This film, in my opinion, has a very weak storyline and would benefit from some funnier jokes. The plot is not very original and although it is one of the worst films I have seen for acting I realise that it was also aimed at wowing the audience with iceskating. This is where the film truly delivers. The skating and the moves almost made me tempted to go to the local ice rink. The actors (or their stunt doubles)must have required so much talent and energy. The only reason that I have given this film three stars is not for the acting, but to the sporting talent. Some of the actors/actresses would be far better off in the winter olympics as opposed to acting.

My 9 year old loves this dvd. I've watched this and the other Hannah dvd's with her and enjoyed them all. If your child is a fan of the show, this and the others on sale are a must. Even I don't get bored watching them over!

When I was just seven years old I watched this at the pictures. I then got the story & tape, and the sticker album. Now at the tender age of 27 I watched this again on DVD the other day and I enjoyed it. It is very different to many other Disney films. For a start it is set in Victorian London. It is one of the last Disney Films to have lavish painted backdrops rather than the more cartoony style we see today. It is set in a sort of parallel world to ours, one of mice. Basil is approached by young Olivia and Dr. Dawson (the Watson to Basil's Holmes) in order to request his help to find her kidknapped dad. I was watching a different film on the long flight back from New Zealand but could see EIGHT BELOW on the screen of the man sitting in the row infront of me. I kept being distracted from my film and found myself squinting between the seats and watching the beautiful Huskies and the fantasic scenery on the screen infront, even without sound it looked a fantastic film so when the man finished watching it, I asked him what it was. I then searched for it on my screen, found it and sat spellbound watching it. It's full of hardship, hope and triumph over adversity, one of those sad but happy films that keeps your attention til the end, and you definately need a tissue handy. Here is what is wrong about these dvds warner bros(greedy brothers) have put out: They have decided to make each disc (on most discs & most golden collection volumes) have the same character over and over which gets right on your funbags after a while. The looney tunes unique selling point has always been that each episode is followed by a different character. This stops you getting bored of watching the same character over and over again, which makes the characters stay fresh and interesting. i have NEVER watched looney tunes on tv where the same charcter is repeated, have you? no thought not, and when you do like the greedy brothers have forced you to here, if you wanna watch dvd quality looney tunes which we all do, it becomes apparent very ...
