Rick Moranis plays a scientist who is determined to invent a working shrink ray but with no luck until one day and accident occurs and a baseball becomes a part of the shrink machine which finally gets it working. Looking for the baseball the scientists kids and the kids from next door venture into the attic where the shrink ray is stored and worked on. When the kids are in the attic the shrink ray fires and shrinks the kids so that's when the adventure begins. Because i aint seen this movie in a long time they somehow end up in the backyard which gets them into a whole lot of trouble. I absolutely love it. I am always fascinated by the level of detail in the models. The characters are magical and timeless. I think the Cosgrove Hall crew should get the Oscar, the Nobel prize, the whole works... I waited so long for a DVD collection and now it's here. Three cheers for Fremantle! The packaging and menus are lovingly done and the price is very reasonable as well considering it is a 11 DVD set. There should have been an episode listing but you can always make one up yourself.

My 18 month old grandson wants me to put this on as soon as he arrives, and loves to stand in front of the tv to dance to the music. I do think he finds the one where Lofty is scared of the dark, rather scarey, but this dvd is well worth the money.

On balance, this DVD is worth buying and my 18 month old daughter loves it. The storyline has elements that are taken directly from the original books, the feel is Pooh-like and there are no native American animals added to make the numbers up. The trouble is, you cannot ignore the awful soundtrack. A couple of the songs are from the books, 'The More It Snows', 'Sing Ho for the Life of a Bear', but there are some that Carly Simon has made-up. Worse still, she sings them. Worst of all, she makes a self-indulgent personal appearance at the end, strutting around with her teeth, trying to look cool and sexy but failing miserably. My one year old loves this dvd and wiggles around to the catchy tunes. This dvd encourages children to explore music and dance and be confident in expressing themselves. As an adult it's one of those dvd's that you don't mind watching over and over again!! My favourite is Luna and the goodbye song, although it's getting embarrassing singing it at work.
