This DVD uses a very soft approach encouraging tots to gradually become more and more fimiliar with the potty. It really does hold their attention and has some pretty catchy tunes that you may find yourself singing to. Their are two parts to this DVD which are quite different but equally good. Bear in the Big Blue House is ever so gentle and trys to make his characters comfortable about using a potty or announcing the need to use it. This was used for my two children as well some of their cousins and everyone seemed to really appreciate it. This DVD has prompted me to start a small collection of Bear in the Big Blue House.

Just recently got this for my daughter. She absolutely loves it. We have watched it over and over again and never get bored with it. Its great with the addition of Chris Evans, Stephen Tomlinson, Elton John and Noddy Holder. Very entertaining would definately recommend it.

I am a huge fan of the muppets so I ordered this the minute I realised that it was out, when I watched it I was really disapointed at the few funny jokes there where and how the plot line seemed feeble and weak, not worthy of the muppets, the ending wasn't right for me and didn't even seem to make sense (you make up your own mind about this remark if you ever watch it) The basic plot line is that the morgage payment is due on the muppet theatre and Kermit and his friends will be evicted by the evil banker if it isn't paid in time. This fourth offering in Mattel's series of "Fairytopia" Barbie films continues the trend towards ever more beautiful animation, has a very similar plot, and introduces a new heroine. As with every previous "Barbie" video, my six year old daughter absolutely loves it and has watched it many times. As he has now reached the age where he doesn't think he's supposed to enjoy "girlie" things, her twin brother pretends not to like it, but he seems to find his way into the family TV room and sit down to watch a remarkably high proportion of the time when this film is playing. I normally don't go for Disney family movies like this, but I'm a sucker for a good switching places gimmick. Basically, the plot revolves around Jamie Lee Curtis (the single mom) and Lindsay Lohan (the stereotypically rebellious teenaged daughter) switching bodies for a day after eating some magical fortune cookies. No joke, that's the cause of it. I expected to leave a certain amount of my brain at the door when watching this, so I didn't let this affect my outlook on the rest of the movie. The film's biggest downfall is that the mom and daughter, after switching bodies, don't really encounter any major problems that the average family can relate to. We got the whole set of BE dvds as a present and to be quite honest until about 14 months this was the only one my daughter was interested in, some are definitely better than others. If you are only going to get one I recommend this one as it is very entertaining for animal loving kids and now at 2 my little girl still cracks up at the dog who balances a biscuit on his nose and eats it!

I watched this movie because I'm a huge Julie Andrews fan, the Princess Diaries books are a favourite guilty pleasure of mine (though I do think the joke has grown somewhat stale over the course of ten books) and although the first film wasn't brilliant, it was affable enough. This film, however, is a complete and utter waste of space. I can't believe it was actually a feature film that people paid money to see, the whole thing screams made-for-TV. Frankly, whoever wrote the script deserves to be shot, or at least banned from ever writing for the screen again. I bought this for my now 13 month old daughter when she was about 5 months old as I wanted her to hear lots of english (we live in Spain) and she's loved it from the start ! She gets really excited when she sees the credits and hears the music and even dances ! It's great to put on if I want to get on with a couple of things as I know that she'll be entertained and now she even laughs at certain bits ! I would highly recommend this for children of all ages, as I also have two older spanish step-children and although they don't speak english, they also really enjoy it, singing the songs and everything. Great fun !!

Yes, there's slapstick, but it's the best - see the fight between museum guards and Chinese criminals, using stuffed animals as weapons, or the rematch pitting the Chinese against British nannies armed only with umbrellas and a determination not to take any more nonsense from you, young man! But a lot of the comedy comes from character and script, and perfect playing from all concerned. Ustinov, Hayes and Nimmo stand out, but Roy Kinnear and Geoffrey Pearson are in there somewhere, along with a long string of British character actors. The maid at Lord Castleberry's home has one brilliant wordless moment "Florence will look after you!" (Florence humphs silently).
