I grew up watching only a few films and the Hunchback of Notre Dame was one of them. I used to get my mam to rent it from the local video shop over and over again, and in the end the owner just ended up giving us the video. Sadly, since my VHS player stopped working last year, i have had to convert all my videos onto DVD, which is a pain and costs money. I think the Hunnchback of Notre Dame is an amazing story! Especially for children and especially for those growing up in the world today. I believe, and know, the moto to the story is dont be afraid of who you are, be proud. I recently got this DVD for my birthday, and we all had a great time watching it. This DVD collection (also on blu-ray) contains all of Pixar's short films from The Adventures of Andre and Wally B (1984) to Lifted (2006). Although many of these shorts have appeared on home video releases of Pixar's feature length films (be it VHS, DVD or Blu-Ray), this DVD is still well worth it because not only is it nice to have them all available in one place, but also to experience Pixar's earlier works such as Tin Toy, Red's Dream and the aforementioned Andre and Wally B. I was excited to see this was a new release as my daughter loves the little einsteins. When we watched the dvd together I immediately noticed that the voices were not those we hear in the UK but the US voices. This confused my daughter as she could not understand how she could see but not hear her favourite characters. It should be made clear if the voices have not been dubbed.

I bought the R1 version of this, hence why I know what's here :) Today's British kids may know some of the Sesame Street gang if they have watched Elmo's World, Play with Me, Sesame, or the newest edition showing on BBC2 NI, Sesame Tree, but it's just NOT the same. I may sound like a nostalgia buff here just muttering about the good old days, but even those who last saw Sesame Street here in the 80's can tell you that Sesame Street proper is an entirely different animal, with a greater variety of learning topics and tools at its disposal. After watching Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas(which I thoroughly enjoyed),I decided to also buy it's sequel(being a lover of all things Christmas and Disney). It was only when I bought it,I realised it was computer animated... (This was also the first time the Disney characters were seen in 3D animation). 'Oh here we go'...I thought to myself. I usually find that when Disney uses computer animation(apart from Pixar,which is obviously brilliant),it takes the charm out,so I really dreaded seeing how awful this was probably going to be. This is a good one, featuring some of the later 'earlier' Pat stories. Now, what I want to see, is the very earliest Pat stories on DVD, I actually prefer the man's voice doing the women voices on the early stories and cannot believe that they are still not available on DVD. An oversight that surely must be put right soon!

I am major fan of the Disney Pixar movies and always eagerly await the next one. I do like this film but personally I don't find it as funny as movies like Toy Story 1 & 2 and The Incredibles. Having said that there are some great characters in this film and being an animal lover I think all the rats are adorable. Overall though I would give the film itself 4 out of 5. As this is a 2 disc special with the animated shorts on, the overall package is definately a 5 out of 5. I would definately recommend getting this package as the shorts are great to watch. Some you will have already seen before but most you probably won't. I especially liked the alien abduction short, I almost wet myself laughing at that one.
