this guy goes to the trouble of breaking everything down in easy to follow steps, from tying a knot to howto use your bait and lures..types of line..reels..rods..hooks..casting, spinning...i really enjoyed the dvd and being new to bass fishing found it very helpfull, think i will be going back to this dvd many times, the guy goes on a little, but he knows his stuff and you can tell he loves bass fishing, i really got the feeling this guy wanted to help me catch bass...thanks Henry loved your dvd

Of all the instructional fly-fishing videos I have seen, this is by far the best one. Michael Evans covers all the basic techniques and presents a simple approach to fly casting. He doesn't complicate matters by discussing beautiful scenery or different species of fish. This DVD covers casting and nothing else - and that's exactly what you need to focus on as a beginner in the sport (or art?) of fly fishing. What makes this video stand out is how clearly Michael explains and demonstrates common mistakes and how to correct them.

It's a fact, more people are taking to the water all around the UK. It's the last great escape and is becoming more affordable, especially if a couple purchase a small boat/trailer together. The video says as much about a small trailerable boat as it does about fishing, and this is an extra unexpected nice surprise. The boat used is a 16ft Orkney and launching and retreiving from a trailer is clearly shown. Neccessary equipment for the boat, safety etc, is well covered. Fishing tackle/bait is also well explained and where/when to fish etc. The DVD is relaxing to watch and the knowledge gained is very useful. Get this cool DVD, sit back, relax and learn.

"Inspirational" I used to fly fish some years back and have recently reaquainted myself with the sport. Cannot say I ever caught many fish as I was basically self taught. Came across Hywel's DVD's whilst surfing, bought "the main course" and pretty soon "just desserts", they have revolutionised my techniques, casting and all other aspects. If you are a novice or an acomplished fly fisher, I feel sure you will find something to educate or improve your fishing; whether it's from tying a knot, to casting a double haul. Brilliant, tight lines.

I think this is a really good introduction to fly fishng small still waters. It has lots of usefull stuff in it. The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is I felt more time could have been devoted to casting(Hywel Morgan is a world class caster). However, I still rate it highly and feel the whole DVD has been put together well. Worth adding to your collection(if you have one). At the price, can you afford not to. I have also seen "The Main Course" in the same series..equally as good and packed with more useful stuff.
