161.Creature Comforts - Complete Series 1 starring: Julie Sedgewick

DVD : Creature Comforts - Complete Series 1
Creature comforts are just so well done, smooth but you can still see how they were done - the perfect balance.
This set is really only the complete series, not a boxset. Inside the cardboard box are the two series as they are usually packaged. Some of the featurettes are very good, although I could have watched many more special features. :)

Definitely well worth watching.... over and over again!

This fourth and penultimate volume of the great Avatar animated series contains a further four episodes. The first episode of the volume (episode thirteen) sees Katara and Sokka sick after the storm of the last episode forcing Aang to go out on his own for medicine where he is captured by the newly promoted Admiral Zhao. This episode is my favourite from this volume with some great action and a good plot.

In episode fourteen Aang and his friends visit a village that has grown reliant on a powerful fortuneteller and will not believe the danger they are in. This episode has the feel of a filler episode about it but it is still as funny and entertaining as you would expect from this show. The episode also adds to the relationship ... Read More:

I love the Tick. But I don't want to watch it in Portuguese... The listing says the language is Portuguese, is this a mistake? Or is this really only available in Portuguese?

A friend recommended this to me and when he told me it was an animation I kind of disregarded it for some reason. However I finally checked it out and was astounded by its scathing social commentary of New Labour Britain. It's simply fantastic. Wonderful and varied animation, a fantastic soundtrack and perfectly suited voice overs. I've seen series 2 as well and I think it's even better. Please BBC, can we have all 3 series on DVD. It is shocking, then funny, then shocking again. My favourite sketches were Clive, chat room pervert, Daddy and Timmy and the hilarious Daisy Harris press conference. If you were to show this to people in 50 years time it would give them a perfect idea of urban Britain at the start of the 21st century. It is dark but ... Read More:

Hi there! Just to let everyone know that this is indeed Series One of the NEW series of Transformers (2008) and not the 1984 version as stated above. It certainly made me worry before it arrived yesterday but all is well. I have watched a few of these before on kids TV and can assure you they are good - different but still oh so gooooooooood! :)

This film has a fantastic plot considering it's a children's movie, and characters which you truly care about. It's exciting and even scary in places, and the ending is brilliantly climactic. Unlike many kids movies, it can hold your attention all the way through, even if you're an adult and seen it before!

The animation is beautiful and colourful, and the message is good without being too moralistic. Oh, and there are some cracking songs which make you want to get up and dance around the room!

This was my absolute favourite film when I was younger, and even now I'm 20 I can still enjoy it. It far surpasses any of the animations currently on kids' TV, and whilst it doesn't have any of the knowing humour of films such as Shrek ... Read More:

I think this is probably the best representation of the TMNT on the big or small screens. It's certainly the closest to the comics.

A warrior from Central America gained immortality 3,000 years ago, and his generals were turned to stone. 13 monsters were released into the world and created carnage. Fast forward to now, and the portal from which the warrior gained his immortality is going to open again and he's gathering the monsters. Meanwhile the Turtles have grown up a little. Leo is in Central America to learn how to be a good leader, Mikey's got an entertainment business, Donatello works in IT support and Raph is, well, Raph. Meanwhile April and Casey have an antiques business and the Foot Clan, sans Shredder, is selling their services ... Read More:

I am so glad to find that other people love this as much as I do. Was buying it for my 3 year old godson because my boys (and I) loved it so much and reading these reviews brought back memories of my sons dancing round the living room and making me replay the songs over and over again, and of me spluttering tea with laughter at some of the jokes. I loved all the Hope and Crosby Road to ... films and wished that Branagh and Kline would do some more animation versions or remake them as they had a great chemistry. In my view an absolute classic family film.

This is even funnier if you are familiar with the welsh, Gogs is made in south wales and is the welsh slang for our northern brethren, which is why it's all in grunts and pointing ;) Its not very well known outside wales which is a real shame. I've never met a real life gog I didn't like and these one are even better! I don't actually have the DVD yet, just ordered, my taped from tv copy is very badly worn now...
