Like the title of this review says, this film is a true classic. It tells the story of a young boy who builds a snowman that comes to life at midnight. This film is the only film I have ever seen that is funny, magical and sad at the same time. It is also the first one that I have seen that had no dialogue in, but watching it now, I think that the filmmakers were right not to put any in. Having said that, I am SO GLAD that the enchanting song "Walking in the air" is in it. I am also glad that it is hand-drawn, not computer animated. I know that, if you look at the film very closely, there are small errors, but, because they don't have any effect on the story, they really don't matter.
If this film is not part of your collection of videos ... Read More:

My son loves it as much as I did. He refers to it as the "fire-engine" DVD. Great stories, fab music and a sense of real life that keeps my boys interest.

I bought this DVD for the kids to watch in the car during a long drive on holiday in France. I notice that all the other reviews are concerned with the quality/editing/dubbing etc, however my review is aimed at parents who need to keep their kids entertained! My children are 7 and 5, and they laughed for three solid hours. I don't know about other parents, but I was dreading the long drive, however the drive was a pleasure with this DVD playing. It was an unbelievable hit with them and they just loved it. It made for a very harmonious drive through France as we couldn't help laughing at the kids laughing in the back. A brilliant DVD that has become our children's favourite DVD of all time.

This set of three Peppa Pig DVDs is absolutely fantastic! There are 32 episodes as well as two bonuses, short "lessons", one about counting and the other about colours. My 4,5-year-old finds these episodes a great laugh and I'm happy that some of them actually "make a point" in a very positive way, for example about recycling, eating veg or how silly it is to be scared of spiders :).
I noticed that some episodes don't feature the voice of the "original" Peppa, but my son hasn't noticed this at all, the "new" Peppa sounds so similar.

A bit slow at first but once it gets going it's hilarious - My favourites are the penquins and the lemurs.

I must have watched this film five times now and I will definately be watching it again.

"Just smile and wave boys, smile and wave". ;-)

First, let me say that Shaun the Sheep is a great TV show for kids of all ages. However...

As an expatriot Briton living in the US I am constantly baffled by DVD manufacturers' insistence on producing kids TV titles in region 2 format (so that they can only be viewed on region 2 DVD players). Sadly this is the case with such classic children's TV shows as Shaun the Sheep, The Clangers, Mr. Benn, Ivor the Engine and The Wombles, and it makes it hard or virtually impossible to see these TV shows outside Europe. Region 2 format was intended to prevent people from buying videos abroad before their domestic theatre release - this is hardly going to be an issue with children's TV shows - especially ones that have been shown on TV for up to 40 years! ... How can anyone find this movie funny? Maybe it is OK if you are a big fan of Wallace and Gromit, but if you are used to American movies such as Over the Hedge, it is dull, dull, dull. Nowhere near as good as Over the Hedge or Madagascar.

Everything starts with everyone in the town looking forward to a vegetable competiton, but that all changes when a few rabbits are on the loose, and Wallace is the Were-Rabbit (quite scary for youngsters) believe it or not. The veg competiton then turns into a big battle between Gromit, another dog Phillip, Lady Tottington and the Were-Rabbit (Wallace.) I thought the movie would bew abseloutely fantastic, but I found that I could not get a single laugh out of it. Do not buy, just get the famous Over the Hedge.

i loved this show when i was a little sprog in the 80's, absolutely brilliant i thought, always have done. Im not sure how long this has been on dvd, but i've bought it recently and treated myself to trip down memory lane. All the characters are great, but for some reason i still find myself cracking up at little drutt. Even though the models where relatively crudely done plasticine, i think adds to the overall enjoyment of it. The creatures that used to come out of the trapdoor as well where ingeniously thought out of nowhere, very simple yet quite horrible sometimes. And with the legendary Willie Rushton doing the voices it all came back to me of what a fun time i had watching this way back in the days when kids tv was just plain good fun.
