How can anyone find this movie funny? Maybe it is OK if you are a big fan of Wallace and Gromit, but if you are used to American movies such as Over the Hedge, it is dull, dull, dull. Nowhere near as good as Over the Hedge or Madagascar.

Everything starts with everyone in the town looking forward to a vegetable competiton, but that all changes when a few rabbits are on the loose, and Wallace is the Were-Rabbit (quite scary for youngsters) believe it or not. The veg competiton then turns into a big battle between Gromit, another dog Phillip, Lady Tottington and the Were-Rabbit (Wallace.) I thought the movie would bew abseloutely fantastic, but I found that I could not get a single laugh out of it. Do not buy, just get the famous ... Read More:

i loved this show when i was a little sprog in the 80's, absolutely brilliant i thought, always have done. Im not sure how long this has been on dvd, but i've bought it recently and treated myself to trip down memory lane. All the characters are great, but for some reason i still find myself cracking up at little drutt. Even though the models where relatively crudely done plasticine, i think adds to the overall enjoyment of it. The creatures that used to come out of the trapdoor as well where ingeniously thought out of nowhere, very simple yet quite horrible sometimes. And with the legendary Willie Rushton doing the voices it all came back to me of what a fun time i had watching this way back in the days when kids tv was just plain good fun.

this film couldn't be more crap. they should have made extra episodes instead of this piece of crap its basicly old stuffed, stuffed into the amout of 3 episodes. they should have waited until around the sixth series and released a better version in the cinema.

The plot has been well-summarised in other reviews, but hats off first to animator Richard Williams, the man who not only created the cartoon characters but made them interact so convincingly with the humans. Nowadays we take computer animation so much for granted it would be easy to underestimate the complexity and painstaking detail involved in not only reproducing so many well-loved cartoon characters but integrating them, and the original toon characters of the movie, frame by frame, 14 to the second, for the full 99 minutes. You only have to compare this with previous attempts like Gene Kelly's dance with Jerry the Mouse in "Anchors Aweigh" Anchors Aweigh [1945] (REGION 1) (NTSC)], or the Sinbad sequence in "Invitation to the Dance" (currently unavailable), ... These cartoons are priceless to the current new look Mr Men series on Channel 5.
It's fair to say that the animation wasn't the best even at the time of original release. The show purely carried by the Mr Men themselves.
Each short cartoon follows a different Mr Man on their adventure, sticking closely to the original books. The narrator is none other than Arthur Lowe (Captain Manwaring, Dads Army).
The cartoons do look dated now, but the episodes are classic and very charming. The Mr Men are a fantastic bunch of characters and it is nice to see them still as popular today.

I can't say I was terribly impressed by this. I have never been much of a fan of Winne the Pooh, but this being such an...English....series of books, the American accents of all the characters in this Disney animation (bar Christopher Robin, who only puts in an appearance during the last two minutes of the film) soon began to grate. I'm sure this point has been complained about by many people many times before, but it is startlingly annoying. I'm sure the kids won't notice, but if you have to watch it with them - you might.

That said real reason I am writing this review is that I was absolutely astonished by the 'disaster movie' ending of this film - in which everyone is flung about during an avalanch which stikes a collapsing pine tree. I didn't think this ... Read More:

I had heard a lot about this so was really pleased when this was released. A different parody to Blue Harvest, more like out-takes and behind the scenes hidden camera type of show. Some excellent sketches including Admiral Akbar cereal. Main issue I had was the length..... I has assumed that this was an extended episode like Blue Harvest, but in fact it was only around 20 minutes with the rest of the DVD taken up with unrelated episodes and extras, so for that reason only 4 stars for me.

Tired with Halloween Pumpkin King Jack Skellington finds a land called Christmas Town and plans to make the festivities very frightening.

Tim Burton's vivid imagination has made him a modern day great and this is a sparkling gem with an acute perception of the holidays.

Opening with a catchy song "This is Halloween", Henry Selick's picture sets the tone for an entertaining and interesting adventure starring a spiderlike central character

Jack Skellington is a wonderful creation, filled with many human emotions including hope and challenge and is easy to watch. Danny Elfman has pitched the songs to match Skellington perfectly, especially when he first sees Christmas Town "What's this?"

The animation may feel slightly dated with ... Read More:
