I purchased tokko randomly after reading some of the reviews below,
not expecting much more than another forgetable, seen it all before
anime that doesnt really bring anything new to the table.

And that preconception turned out to be quite true, Tokko rehashes the same
ground as such animé as bleach, gantz, urotsukidoji and hellsing,
the plot being pretty much a pastiché of all four, demons running
riot behind the scenes of everyday life in tokyo, only a select few
fighting against the odds to stop them and at times becoming something
similar to that which they hunt creating a moral dilemma,
leading to self sacrifice etc etc.

The thing about tokko is that it does add ... Read More:

So, you're probably wondering what makes this anime so special, that you should buy it immediately?

The answer to this question is hard to put into words, though I'll try my best.

1) It's an anime about the crazy lives of some very very strange girls as they make their way through highschool.

2) It has one liners that you'll be quoting for weeks.

Finally, I'd like to mention that it also includes the following:-

1) Giant talking cats.
2) A pervert teacher.
3) Pigtails that may/may not allow the owner to fly.

I'd mention more, but theres too many to talk about here.

Essentially what I am trying to say, is that it's a brilliant, yet odd anime that you ... Read More:

I Think the best way to sum up this series is never judge a book by its cover.
From the outset the box looks very colourful very fun, Originally I thought this was just this was Kenji Nakazawa's story after the bomb had dropped but it gives you an insight to what his life was like before and after the A-Bomb Was Dropped on Hiroshima Back in 1945.
The Film its self is based on the true story of his life and he says in the leaflet that is inside the box 70% of what happened is true, It is in its self a history lesson which transports you from the modern times back to the chaos of when the bomb hit and gives you a insight of what it was actually like to live back in that time and all the hardships of coping with radiation poising and starvation due to lack of ... I actually bought this by accident after searching for Full Metal Alchemist, but this is great anyway!

You can find plot synopses anywhere, so I'm just going to say that the animation and music is great, as is the story. It alternates between upbeat, comedy episodes with Sagura (the militarian hero of the series) trying unsuccessfully to fit with people from school, and action episodes which see him fighting against terrorists. It's balanced pretty well so that the story flows along smoothly, although I felt it dragged occasionally during some of the combat scenes.

The protagonists are likeable and develop well throughout the series, and the villains suitably evil (seriously, Gauron is a complete freak). I watched it in Japanese so I don't know what ... Read More:

While Masamune Shirow is perhaps best known for Ghost in the Shell, Dominion was the first of his Manga to be translated into Anime. While the original OVA follows the manga (though only 4 of the 6 episodes were made), this follows the manga's style with lots of action and humour.

If you like Shirow's more recent works, then you really should watch this. While less "real world" then either Appleseed or GitS, this is still an excellent series. Dominion (both the original oav and New Dominion) have some of the best one-liners in animé including the classic by Benten (Britain in the OAV) "We put the Terror back into inTerrorgation!"

So if you like comedy and action, this is an essential purchase.

Having watched the series of X (which is amazing, but sadly hasn't been brought out on region 2), I thought I'd invest in the film version, especially as it was only £3.50 and I could have it as a treat after finishing a pretty lengthy exam.
It wasn't as rewarding as I hoped for. The characters, which I had come to know and love throughout the series, were now paper-thin and the plot was weak. Understandably with so many characters they couldn't go into all of their backstories, but, given that the film is a pale 93 mins, they could have well fleshed some of them out. The odd pacing and plot holes means the viewer is left just as bemused as Kamui is. If I hadn't seen the series, I would've been completely lost! Furthermore, the animation is pretty shoddy considering it was only made ... Read More:

DVD : Pokemon: Destiny Deoxys (REGION 1) (NTSC)
Today I recived my copy of Destiny Deoxys (I m a UK importer so :P) so in true Pokemon fanboy stlye I will review it!

Very good. It seems the producers have really gone downtown to chinatown (In other words did a good job). The opening explaining Pokemon was far better then what previous movies has done with all those Pokemon and so on.

Animation. Top notch. The 3D effects worked well and I m not the kinda guy that thinks 3D works well in animes or cartoons (Thinks of Final Fantasy Unlimited. EEK!).

Deoxys. Finally learned how to say "Deoxys". Had no voice so 4Kids could nt screw up in that department! lol. The way Deoxys moves is amazing. The flying, the morphing etc. Very nice.

Plot. God. For a change I could nt predict what would happen next or how the ... Read More:
