I love this anime, it's full of beautiful artwork and music. But I must say the English dubbing is badly scripted; they have often left out essential words and added some words seemingly to make it more dramatic, which is absolutely unnecessary. They have also added extra background sounds and voices in the English dubbing, which contributes to the loss of stylishness in the original Japanese version.

The English subtitle is much more faithful to the orignal Japanese and I would strongly recommend anyone to watch this anime in Japanese with English subtitle.

I bought this DVD set on a whim, just looking for some sweet anime and not sure what to pluck for. Normally I'd look up some clips on t'internet to make sure that what I was buying seemed OK but this time I just 'one clicked' and worried that I'd wasted my money.

What a massive relief to find that not only had I NOT wasted my money but also discovered an absolutely fantastic series. It's slower than most anime, not as frenetic or visceral, but it more than makes up for this with great character development, and storylines that draw you in without you realising it. Some people have said that the series doesn't seem to go anywhere but I'd disagree. The character development is where it's going and the series ends leaving you wanting more. ... Read More:

This second volume of Fullmetal Alchemist hits its stride and becomes an excellent show. In episode five the brothers are caught up in a terrorist attack on a train transporting a high ranking general and they use all their powers to defeat the terrorists and gain the thanks of the general. Episode six sees the brothers placed with an odd military alchemist to study for the exam that would see them become State Alchemists and Edward discovers he has skills that make him unique among alchemists. Episode seven takes a far darker tone than any of its predecessors when the alchemist the brothers are staying with takes extreme measures to maintain his founding and this episode shows what the series can do and doesn't pull its punches as much as you would expect. ... Welcome back!...another great outing for the Lagoon Company here, though NOT quite as good as previous ones, but still good stuff!
Most of this volume concentrates on two young kids who delight in killing people...it explains why they do later on,which was not entirely to my tastes..hence 4 stars.
The first few episodes are still good though, with the same great fight secnes youve come to love, and plenty of great dialogue.

For me the last episode was the best, purely because it features more of the 'rip-off' church, and a scene where Revy and her nun alter-ego Eda are arguing over what gun Jesus would own!..priceless!

Its a good set,and carries on with the charachters that you know and love..so get it already!;)

The self-contained story begun in Samurai X - Trust comes to its coclusion. I was really taken with the animation, it was, well, beautiful. As for the plot, more tragedy than anything else; I reckon there's a few Aristotelian terms in here (hubris, hamartia, catharsis - you know the drill).
