Wow. Is all I can say about what I have seen of this anime so far. As soon as I watched the first episode, I was hooked.

Now It's not very often that I can pick up an anime and instantly get into it, then throw myself onto the internet directly after and check to see when the next volume is to be released or if it has already.

Ergo Proxy is a very stylish and moodly feeling anime with a fantastic storyline that constantly has you guessing at every turn. I can be a bit slow at times but to be honest I think it adds to it's charm.

The characters are a dream also. There's the strong lead female character of Re-l Mayer who I think is the yes of the audience, as she trys to wade her way through several puzzling ... Read More:

The four episodes in this volume contain some interesting information on the creation of Homunculi, why Ed can transmute without a circle and some background for the brothers teacher Izumi. Also in this volume the Scar and the Ishbalans reach a refugee camp where Scar finds the man who thought his brother alchemy but the military aren't far behind and the manipulations of the Homunculi lead to violence. Fullmetal Alchemist keeps getting better and this volume is no exception, despite having quite a lot of exposition the episodes here remain enthralling and exciting.

First let me say: the plot idea is actually extremely good and interesting.

The problems I had with this anime is that it was very very slow and it actually wastes alot of time BUILDING UP ON NOTHING. There are a multitude of unnecessary pauses topped off with horrible dialogue and purely scripted fight scenes (excpet one, the carriage scene).

If you also have a keen eye you can see, in many instances the animation tags. These are used to help the editing team sequence the film during production and are meant to be totally gone in the final film. They're not absolutely obvious. But a sign of sloppy editing.

This anime relies on its so called look of "antique Japanese art filmed through gauze" to pull up an interested ... Read More:

It's not difficult to understand why Ballad of Narayama won the Palme d'Or in 1983. Beautifully filmed and probably just about having a little something for everyone, I felt that this was without a doubt the best of the Shohei Imamura movies shown today to commemorate his passing last year, and on what would have been a celebration of his birthday should he still be alive today.

Like the timeless setting in The Profound Desire of the Gods, Imamura's story, a reinterpretation of the book Men of Tohoku by Fukuzawa Shichiro, takes place ambiguously "100 years ago" within a self-supporting nomad group of villagers atop a mountain, where tribal life, ritualistic and tightly knit, involves a peculiar practice when one reaches the age of 70. There's forceful ... Read More:

This volume contains episodes 9 - 12.

This volume starts with a particularly uneventful episode as far as action goes. This is very much an episode of 'father and son' moments. Sho is questioning his own feeling of self as he comes to terms with the fact that he might be a clone, though he still has all his memories intact - he is now aware of the immense regenerative power of the Guyver unit.

His dad is obviously troubled by his son's absence, but doesn't want to appear over-protective. The awkwardness is brilliantly portrayed and you get a genuine idea of how he must be feeling via shots of him sleeping at the dining table with his son's dinner covered up to keep it fresh.

Over the following three episodes a new character is ... Read More:

Karas the Revelation picks up straight after the Prophecy, as the story unfolds, we learn that Otoha who became Karas was apart of a criminal gang family and was seen as a demon of sorts by his family but he is no longer Karas because his Yurine has been captured (See Prophecy end for more details).
