This version something I have been interested in seeing for over a decade, the Japanese version of this film. The first disc is the film pretty much identical to how it has always been released in the UK. The second disc is the Japanese version, fully intact, no edits, no overlays with a new 5.1 mix (and the old stereo track). The Japanese version feels like different film. The use of music is much more sparse, the intonation of the voices present the characters differently. Putting the two versions on separate discs rather than fitting the Japanese audio to the English version is definitely the best way to present this.

Now for the down side. Neither version is anamorphic wide screen; they are both 4:3 with black borders. The video ... Read More:

It only took 15 years but hey, its worth the wait .... this second vampire D film rockz!!!

The basic story for this is some powerful guyz daughter gets 'kidnapped' by a vampire and taken off into the dead of night and he hires D to hunt them both down ... return his daughter and kill his daughters kidnapper. The truth of it is the vampire and this girl are lovers and whilst trying to find her D comes up against rival vampire hunters, werewolves and even an armed mob lead by the local sherrif of a sleepy town D had buisness in a few years ago.

This film is varied, good graphics and alot of that gothic style you know you love..... def worth a look!!!

DVD : DragonBall Z: Season Four (REGION 1)(NTSC) (NTSC)
Like all other Dragonball Z season box set's this set is a MUST buy! It features THE Garlic JR, Trunks and Android sagas. That's 32 episodes on six discs! The DVD set also includes the English DUB with Japanese background music, Japanese and English Dub with US music (Soundtrack from Bruce Faulconer)
The DVD set still remains in its 16:9 format (widescreen)
A major disappointment to this box set is the lack of Re- Dub especially. At the start of the set Vegeta's voice had been Re-Dubbed (Garlic JR saga) but remained untouched from the Trunks saga and onwards) This would have to be the most noticeable voice change as his voice changes from deep to rather high pitched, so if you're a fan of Vegeta's deep voice then you are going to be very ... This exemplifies many of the qualities that good anime should possess. It is just so hard to imagine something like this being produced by any Western studio. Although fundamentally dissimilar, it shares that idiosyncratic approach to characterization, storyline and attention to detail shared by the best anime, such as most of the Ghibli productions, or Cowboy Bebop for example. The artwork and animation is excellent, and in fact all the fundamentals are of high quality. The bizarre storyline gives it much opportunity for humour, which is subtly exploited, and the characters are unusual but believable, even when they are unrealistic. In fact, even the minor characters have personalities, aided once again by superb attention to detail. Sadly, as ... Read More:

I had high hopes for this title, but i found myself becoming bored half way through. Despite this i carried on watching till the end, this was a mistake as it just got worse. I gave it two stars as the begining was quite good, and it was prob good for its time, but in all, not worth watching. Wouldn't recommend.

The third volume of the brilliant Avatar series containing a further four episodes and although these are a bit too moralistic for my tastes they are still greatly entertaining. The volume kicks off with episode nine where Katara gets into trouble while trying to improve her water bending skills. This was the first episode of Avatar that I ever watched and although there are many better episodes in the series it is still greatly entertaining.

Episode ten sees Aang and friends running into a group of bandits fighting against the Fire Nation. This is a great if somewhat predictable episode with some excellent fight sequences.

Episode eleven guest stars the voice of Rene Auberjonois (Odo from Star Trek Deep Space Nine) and sees the ... Read More:

From beginning to end i loved this series, its one of my favourites and for good reason. It combines all out action, an epic storyline, a fantastic cast, enveloping characters and a good sense of humour.

Episodes varied in style and whilst some were genuinely heart-breaking others were poignant and optimistic. The comedy in this anime is also a highlight, its a fitting touch and is done just right.

I would defy anyone not to enjoy this series and would reccomend anyone with the slightest interest in anime to buy Samurai Champloo and prove me wrong. Its an adventure through like no other and one i will always watch, again and again.

Despite the other reviewers rating (2 stars?), this is the definitive edition we've been waiting for in the UK. This set comes with a fairly sturdy tin box, a 60-page booklet with Eva/Angel info and a glossary of terms you'll hear in Eva. It also, obviously, comes with the 7-disc 26-episode run of NGE, remastered especially for this set. While the picture quality dips at times and occasionally shows its age, its much better than the VHS/DVD releases of the past. This set comes with director's cuts of various episodes, commentaries and 4 documentaries. It's the best boxset were likely to see in the UK and at £72, I was very happy with what I got. If you havent seen Eva before, then I'd be wary about your preconceptions or word-of0mouth reviews. Different people take ... Read More:

2-D film with great sound effects, however the quality of the film at times was very poor, as to the film, the film was not the best I have seen and I have seen many manga films. The cover is very much miss leading, this Amazon cover is nothing like the person it is portraying in the film. Shame the cover was the reason why I decided to rent this film. The film is placed in three parts, Present day; 1 year later; 10 years later. I found the story at times hard to understand, as to why certain parts of the films had been done. The film is about robotics human like, who are build to serve people, however the robotic like humans carry a software fault that drives a few to kill.

The question is should you buy or rent this out, I would say no, but then again if the film ... Read More:

While the sex/violence is a bit uncomfortable at times, i think that anyone over 18 will appreciate the whole 'sex and death' link that recurs throughout this series. The story seems to make much less sense in this dubbed version and the constant reference to the 3 similar sounding worlds and all the characters having similar names gets quite confusing (Nagumo, Agumi, Megumi, Amano.... and more).

I saw the Japanese Audio version when i was younger, and wanted to see if it was as good as i remember it (not ghost in the shell 'good', ive got nothing better to watch 'good'). Overall id say this is worth seeing, but only as a reminder of where manga has come from, and where it is today, of course the japanese audio version would be a must see, but this dubbed version is ...
