This particular installment of the brilliant "Classic Albums" series is an absolute must for fans of the Who and especially the amazing "Who's Next" album. Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey and John Entwistle are especially engaging interviewees, their reminiscences often funny, sometimes sad and always informative. They are more than ably backed up by Glyn Johns, the album producer, former manager Chris Stamp, biographer and fan Dave Marsh and Keith Altham, among others. The footage of the Who performing some of the songs live is priceless. What amazing power and energy those four guys had at their peak. Definitely one of the greatest rock bands on the planet, ever! Pete's solo performances are also superb, both in the footage from 1971 and in ... Read More:

Considering the amount of attention this album has got over the years, much of this is familiar but the detail is great, the band are all there (obviously minus the most important) and Beat poet Michael McClure among others provide insightful and entertaining moments. Not essential, but worth a watch for the true Doors fan.

DVD : The Complete Monterey Pop Festival [2002]
It finally arrived. I've only watched disc 1 so far - but it was worth the wait. Opening with " If you're going to San Francisco" the memories of that era started to come back. I now have the 3 major festivals of the 60s/70s so I can escape the stresses of today for hours at any time.

My biggest gripe is that, having paid the price of the DVDs + Vat I then get stung by HM Customs for a further £14.

Given that I would recommend this collection to anyone who enjoys festivals and music. Janis Joplin and Otis Redding on the same lineup - awesome

Entire Michael Jackson concerts are rare on DVD, so I was naturally extremely excited when I found this was available, and watched it straight away. I'm going to be very honest; as a huge Michael Jackson fan this does not at all compare to the music on his CDs. For no doubt the richest man in pop it's all surprisingly cheap and unglamorous, and there are several points that you question why this was released at all. However, this paints only half of the picture - there are some very good points and it needs to be explained in greater detail in order to understand fully whether this is worth buying or not.

Knowing that Michael Jackson played 4 nights at Wembley Stadium on this tour, as well as major towns like Sydney, Tokyo, New York ... Read More:

For Godssake reading some of the previous reviews mentioning words such as 'narcissist' and gracious enough to say things like 'suprisingly good'. May I ask 'who the hell do you think you are?' Have you ever got up on a stage and performed? Do you know what that is like? No doubt many of you who have written reviews here live sad existences in the UK and get a tad carried away with your own self importance (not) when the opportunity arises to offer an opinion. This concert created awareness hopefully and made some money for charity. Artists turned up and performed to a crowd that were not necessarily there to see them alone which is an anxiety forming thought to an artist. Some did well others did not. It was a test if anything of the skill to capture ... Read More:

I'd seen this DVD available for pre-order and being a massive Madonna fan thought i'd check it out even though i couldn't find any description of what was on the DVD anywhere.

Basically, it's the 3rd release of the Madonna 'Music In Review' documentary, repackaged into yet another version that while essentially the same - always lure's the collectors and completists to buy it. That's how these companies that bring these things out without the artist's permission make their money. But let's not worry about the ethics of the DVD... A brief rundown on what it looks like - It's a nice pink card slipcase with two of those slimline DVD cases in it.

For those that haven't seen it before - it's actually one ... Read More:

Two dvd discs: The first is: On ne Change Pas which is a wonderful compilation of some of Celine Dion's best songs and videos.
The 17 main videos are in chronological order and cover a 20 year period starting with songs written by Luc Plamondon, then by Jean Jacques Goldman and then J. Veneruso ( up to about 2004):

L'amour existe encore
Je danse dans ma tete
ziggy
des mots qui sonnent
lolita
incognito
Fais ce que tu voudras
Pour que tu m'aimes encore
Je sais pas
Zora sourit
Si'l suffisait d'aimer
On ne change pas
Sous le vent
Tout l'or des hommes
Et je t'aime encore
Contre Nature
Je ne vous oublie pas
