oh my god, if you havent seen this film there is somthing wrong with you. its the best christmas film ever. home alone is about kevin maclister being left home alone when his parents and family take a holiday to france. wont say much more dont want to spoil it for you but its one of my personal favourites. Home alone 2 is also amazing i know people say that sequals arent as good but in this cirmcumstance its just as good.

This is a depressing and miserable movie right up to the point where the Daddy gets shot and killed by a bank robber. At this point my 7 year old got up and walked out of the room saying "I dont like this film, I dont feel safe now". No matter what the end message is, why did Disney think that guns are OK in a Christmas movie for children? Only in America, eh.

Disappointing. I expected quite a lot of detail about life in Iran and the oppressions forced upon the people following the deposition of the Shah in the late 70's. What followed was really just the most cursory glance at the changing culture, before the 'heroine' Marjane hastily departed for Europe. The subsequent university years were much more about growing up and self-discovery, and told me next to nothing about the impact of the establishment of the islamic republic back home. A watchable film - but not really Oscar material, in my opinion.

I used to watch this film many moons ago when i was younger, and ive since rediscovered it, only to find that this film is as good as, if not better than i remembered it! The setting is beautiful and the Yorkshire dales give the film a wonderful sense of mood too. The acting is brilliant. Maggie Smith is class all the way as Mrs Medlock, and John Lynch is a surprisingly good choice as Lord Craven. The children too are brilliant here - most notably Andrew Knott as Dickon, and there is an utterly charming romantic attraction theme between his character and that of Mary Lennox which runs through the film! <3 All in all, a wonderful film that is sweet and innocent, just like every childhood should be :) xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Spielberg making money out of making children cry isn't my idea of a good film. The special effects are terrible, even when it came out they looked ropey, but again it serves to fool children. I couldn't be happy about making my money from making kids cry, and then be able to sleep at night like Spielberg does. ET himself is a plasticy Mother Teresa without lippy on, Elliot is annoying as characters go and the whole alien thing is silly. Fire in the Sky is a better alien film than this.

Having read the reviews for Kipper I bought this DVD for my 18 month old. He loves it so much it prompted me to add my own review. He is captivated by Kipper, the simple and entertaining stories and the characters. He asks for Kipper by name now and even does a dance to the opening music! He giggles out loud at the hamster in Pigs Present. Its lovely to have a DVD that I can put on for 10 minutes and know that Aaron will enjoy every minute. I would recommend this to everyone.

My 2 year old was given these recently for her 2nd birthday. She is a big Charlie and Lola fan already along with her older brother who is 4. We had lots of episodes recorded that they can't seem get enough of so they were thrilled with this set even if it were just the episodes. What they really both love as well though are the extras. Each DVD has one song "Bestest in the Barn" or "Bat Cat" etc and then a couple of funny outtakes which are recordings of the kids doing the recordings saying funny things. They are both loving the feature length Christmas episode as well which is a lovely one and we haven't seen it for a long time on CBeebies. All in all a very good present - i think we will be putting the first series on our christmas wish list and eagerly awaiting ... Read More:
