I agree this is as good now, if not better than when it was first made. The only downside is that because it was not shot on film the tape stock has not lasted very well. That said it is what is on there that is more important and this is, without doubt one of the best TV series ever made. If you have never seen it treat yourself. Watch it all in one go. Such larks.

Some people consider "Bug's Life" as not being on the same level of quality as other Pixar productions, but I really can not agree with them. My daughter clearly wouldn't agree either. This is a very funny movie, with a lot of interesting innovations (we will never look at bugs in the same way, me and my family) and a kind of surprising kindness - even the bad guys are shown with some understanding (having chosen the life of parasite racketeers, they are now trapped by it - as much as their ant victims). The principal hero is possibly one of the most likeable characters I ever saw. A little warning - there is one scene at the end, of the final demise of the leader of grasshoppers, that can impress the littlest children (under 6) - otherwise this movie ... Read More:

I don't write many reviews, but really felt motivated with 'Spider-man and his amazing friends', because it brings back some really fond memories. I used to love this cartoon and couldn't wait for it to be on. I seem to remember that the early 1980's, the BBC childrens schedules had a Spiderman cartoon at about 4:30 on mondays, alternating between runs of the amazing friends and the solo Spiderman series. Much as I loved the amazing friends, I did prefer the solo Spidey adventures, which seemed to have a more serious (?!) edge. I know another reviewer here has mentioned the solo series, so I hope it gets a release. This DVD release is absolutely great, not just as a piece of nostalgia, but I'm sure as pure entertainment to anyone who's never seen ... Read More:

This review is based on watching the "original theatrical version" (1977) which is on the Bonus Disc in this 2 Disc DVD. There is stellar charm from C3PO, R2D2, Princess Leia, Skywalker, and Hans Solo. The pace of the film is also very good. The audience follows the story much through the eyes of narrators C3PO and R2D2. That, ladies and gentleman, is why this film is pretty innovative. Star Wars doesn't really become truly galactic until Empire Strikes Back.

I love the Harry Potter books and enjoy all the films. The only problem is that as the books are getting longer more & more is getting cut out when they're made into films. I'd rather have this film longer & have all the story in. Still fantastic though!

I was worried this might be aimed more at the very young than some recent animation films but I can say this has something for everyone, no matter their age! With an all star voice cast that includes Will Smith, Robert De Niro, Angelina Jolie amongst many other well known actors, there is plenty of talent to be heard. It's very good how they manage to include characteristics of the actors in their animated characters. Oscar is clearly Will Smith just by looking at the face!The animation is great, with strong bright colours and plenty of detail. The sound track is very strong to with Chrisitina Aguilera's Car Wash the main theme song. For the youngsters there are plenty of funny scenes, and characters. Great for all Dora fans although only the first adventure is a Christmas one. My little girl, having been an avid Dora fan, has now grown out of her. She is 4 and a half. Recommended for 2 to 4 year olds.
