The action of Hayao Miyazaki's latest animated fantasy takes place in an undetermined place and age, though it looks like the late 19th century (allowing for a number of anachronistic details) in a Central European kingdom (the Austro Hungarian empire of the time seems the country where the action takes place, and the book happens in a place called Ingary, though the kingdom in the movie has a large port by the sea, which the Austro Hungarian empire didn't). The story starts with a young woman called Sophie working in a hat factory who is suddenly turned into a 90 year woman through a curse by some witch. I have several Wiggles videos and DVDs. I can always rely on the Wiggles to keep my daughter entertained. She sings along, copies the dance moves, and laughs at their antics. Another reviewer made a comment about them having limited musical talent, but coming from a fairly musical family myself, I have to say that they strike me as highly capable and competent musicians who have learned the art of simplicity in songwriting. They also have a talent for writing and performing very catchy tunes, which children adore, but has been embarrassing for me when I've been caught singing them at work. Return of the Jedi was my favourite film as a kid growing up when there was only the original trilogy and with the Star Wars saga now complete it still remains my favourite. The first part of the movie is in my opinion some of the past Star Wars adventure out of all six films covering the famous rescue of Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt with still impressive action sequences such as the rancor and sail barge battles. The second half really delivers a satisfying conclusion to the story on all front with the classic intercutting of three distinct battles all being crucial to the resolution of the story. Stunning effects still in this day and age and a really emotional stoyline make for in my opinion the best conclusion the Star Wars saga could have hoped for. ... Read More:

First of all the film is excellent Ive seen it before which made me purchase the DVD - BUT - I got the DVD in the post and didnt watch it for a while, opened it up - the disk says spirited away but the film on the disk is actually an old EMI film called 'Bad Boys'! Weird.

I bought this DVD very cheaply and was really expecting nothing much but it totally enthralls my 3 year old grandson and granddaughter. So much so that they want to watch it again and again at any time of year. It has just now been the only thing to pacify my grand daughter, who wanted mummy. I am going to buy a copy for each of them to have at home. It has a lovely message and catchy, sing along tunes as well as being visually just right for the little ones.

I adored the Clangers as a kid and I still find them funny, intriguing and a great work of imagination. Highly recommended.

I loved the first Little Mermaid film (I even had a fish called flounder and the Arial Barbie Doll!) but I really didn't like this sequal. I felt the plot lacked tension and the characters, great in the first film, have become incredibly annoying, especially Arial who has become some madly obsessed mother who is determined to keep Melody, her daughter, out of the sea whatever it takes after Ursula's sister, Morganna has threatened to harm the little girl. Of course in true film fashion Melody, who has a strange lure to the sea and wants to be a mermaid completely ignores her mothers warning and goes into the sea anyhow. I always loved The Little Mermaid, It signalled a new beginning for disney after a few less than successful films, they got back that magic we saw in some of their early films and produced another classic. I was over the moon when disney released The little mermaid again, as i hadn't bought it the first time round, but held off buying it for a while to see if it lowered in price as I couldn't find it for under £20 anywhere(Didn't know about amazon then)then i saw that they were releasing this boxset with a sequal and a prequal at only £35 so i looked on a few websites to pre-order it and found it here on amazon for an even better price of £25, what a bargain! Brother Bear is a wonderful animation - it isn't violent and it has the right balance between comedy and drama. The storyline is engaging and the characters and some of the cameos in this film are hysterical. This is a film for all the family and it is a truly wonderful children's animation combined with Phil Collins' musicianship that brings the film to life. Highly enjoyable.
