If you're looking for something like spooks series 1-6, then don't bother with this. Actually don't bother with this at all!! Unless you enjoy watching terrible acting, bad dialogue and a pretty rubbish performance all around.
The idea of a group of teenage spies fighting terrorism is ridiculous and something that you would most likely find on the disney channel. It might have sounded like a good idea on paper but on the screen it's awful. It doesn't have the fast paced drama or storyline that you would expect from spooks and while watching all you think about is how rubbish the acting etc. is throughout.
Buy at your own peril!!

I thought it's potrayal of the slums in Rio was excellent. You could really feel the pain and suffering through each character, from the begining to the end, false dawns and the main character somehow coming through it all to realise his dream. Some good perfomances in there. A really good watch.

"It puts the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again".

Words that have passed the lips of movie buffs for the past seventeen years with such ferver.

Clarice Starling is a student of the FBI academy in Quantico; bright, sharp, and eager to succeed. Her idol, Jack Crawford, asks her to interview a famous serial killer known as "Hannibal the Cannibal" Lektor in the hopes of learning some information leading to finding a serial killer known as "Buffalo Bill" who likes to kidnap women, murder them, then skin them.

Hannibal Lektor promises Clarice the chance to succeed at her task by providing her with the information she needs to capture the killer, but only in exchange for a chance to delve into ... Read More:

Ignore those who say that this doesn't do justice to the books - it's different, yes, but in a good way. What's the point in sitting down to watch something that's EXACTLY like the book, or complaining because it doesn't EXACTLY match what you thought it should look like? The BBC made an amazing job of what was almost impossible to film, and the cast is just perfect. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays Steerpike with more than a touch of genius, and the chemistry between him and Fuchsia is spot-on... Everything about this is awe-inspiring; the sets, the scripts, the acting. Admittedly, Warren Mitchell's portrayal of Barquentine is more comical and capricious than the fearsome and powerful character in the book, but it works. Likewise, Irma Prunesquallor seems ... As can be seen by most other reviewers I disagree with the high ratings of this film (which incidentally prompted me to buy it).

This is a very basic story of revenge and low lifes and while the depiction of low life drug dealers is quite good and believable - I am a police officer myself - the main story itself is just plain uninteresting. The reasons for this murderous rampage are at first very unclear (and unsatisfactory) in arty b/w flashbacks and even as the story draws to a close it is rather unfulfilling.

Not one character sparked special interest for me nor did I find the murders impressive. Just a series of dull executions. There is no suspence or thrills to be found.

I could easily have missed the movie altogether ... Read More:

I'll never understand why this film walked away with all the awards it got and was so hyped. PULP FICTION does not live up to any such expectations. Supposedly cool it is just senseless banter most of the time, not really funny but utterly ridiculous, with sudden explosions of violence. If you're looking for a black comedy try THURSDAY - a supposed copy of the Tarantino-style, but far better than anything he made.

The one that got the Best Picture Oscar...even if it was David O Selznick who picked it up as producer. It remains one of his most popular features, especially with women by all accounts, although Germaine Greer isn't a fan.

This was Hitch's first Hollywood film and is a brooding atmospheric film that takes a great novel (which was normally something Hitchcock would avoid like the plague, arguing that if a novel was too good, how could he possibly improve on it) and makes it into a film that is just as good, if not better.

Joan Fontaine makes a compelling "Second Mrs De.Winter" and whilst Laurence Oliver can't quite drop his "luvvy" acting style to make the role as Maxim De Winter equally as compelling, it's fair to say that he does make a good stab ... Read More:

Waking The Dead - Series 4 [2001]

Contemporary television drama at its best, although I have not seen all the seasons I feel certain this must be the best, if they come any better than this, WOW.

There is a wonderful atmosphere maintained throughout the season, every complex plot is a well acted and a stunning success, even if there are occasional unlikely coincidences, etc

Detective Superintendent Peter Boyd (Trevor Eve) and psychologist and profiler Grace Foley (Sue Johnson) both well into middle age lead the very much younger team of DI Jordan (Wil Johnson), DS Mel Silver (Claire Goose) and pathologist /forensic scientist Frankie Wharton (Holly Aird).
What makes it stand out against other series (i.e. the American "Cold Case") is ... Read More:

I can scarcely believe that anyone took this movie seriously, principally because of Nicolas Cage's (par-for-the-course) appalling acting.. It is quite pitiful to watch him attempt to present a noble mien as the angelic character, cocking his head on one side; standing on a skyscraper in his long slouch coat, looking with compassion at the teeming millions below; speaking... very... slowly... to indicate that he is troubled by the torment of emotions which we poor humans have to endure. Really he is HYSTERICAL.
What is even worse is his transformation into a 'human' - soulful, puppy-eyed looks at Meg Ryan accompanied by speech of a normal speed, just in case we missed the finer points of his change in characterisation. This movie is a total hoot 'n' a holler and deserves an award ... Read More:
