This is my favourite tv program ever and i wouldn't argue with someone who said this was the best season either.

Utterly brilliant, the concept of the show is genius and this series has in my opinion the greatest twist in the history of motion picture.

2pm and 11pm are my favourite hours.

i originally watched this on BBC and sat opened mouthed after every episode as i tried to digest what i had just seen.
for anyone who doesn't know this is a modern reworking of the Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde tale. but leave what you thought you knew about the story behind as you follow Dr Jackman into the dark unknown.
Nesbitt plays Hyde brillantly, almost to distraction as this larger than life character hits the screen decalring a passion for disney songs, drink, women and violence.
the dvd is well worth the money, though there seemed to be an increased in 'bad language' or maybe i jut didn't notice before? the special features aren't really that great so don't expect deep insight into the making of. two featurettes is all you ... Read More:

'Foyle's War' is one of those marvelous BBC productions that tells the tales of England during World War II. It is set in Hastings, East Sussex, near the beaches of South East England, during 1942 and 1943. Foyle's War tells the story of Christopher Foyle, played by Michael Kitchen, Detective Chief Superintendent, whose job is to keep the peace on the home front during WWII. Helping Foyle is Detective Sergeant Paul Milner, played by Anthony Howell. He was a policeman before the war and lost a leg in a fierce battle and returned to the force by the urging of Foyle. Samantha Stewart, a beauty on her own, is played by Honeysuckle Weeks and is a member of the Mechanized Transport Corps. She is conscripted to drive for Foyle. She sticks her nose in police business and it ... Read More:

seem to have a different opinion from so many other viewers, since I really enjoyed the first half of season six. Seeing Tony get shot, not by season one's physically and mentally vigorous Uncle Junior, as I had kept anticipating that season, but by the toothless demented Uncle Junior, believing he was shooting someone else entirely was priceless irony. I loved the part with Tony in the coma in our world, while -wherever he was - he was exactly what he had always dreaded being - a nobody. Worse, he's a traveling salesman who is "trapped" and unable to get home. When Tony comes out of his coma, he vows to change and take every day as a gift, but later he is gradually pulled back into his old ways, since his position as boss really gives him no alternative.

To collect money for an investment, Jerry (Macy) sets a fake operation up for the kidnap of his wife, but it doesn't go according to plan.

The Coen brothers have made a name for themselves over the past twenty years and this 1996 film, written and directed by the pair cements them into the highest class of different and brilliant filmmakers.

The unusual plot opens with "This is based on a true story" when in fact it isn't, which will set the tone for a bizarre but highly intriguing viewing, made even more strange as the plot unfolds and the direction and cinematography are established.

This whole ideology of kidnapping gives the Coen brothers a great chance to dive deep into their unknowing way of thinking, and is expressed through some ... Read More:

The comparison in quality that one reviewer made on this page between Middlemarch and The Wire might seem far-fetched to anyone yet to see the series. It's not. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't expect ever to see TV of this excellence again. I've certainly never seen anything as good before.

As with others, I envy anyone approaching this work of utter genius for the first time.

There's no doubt that 'Lock, Stock, and two Smoking Barrels' was a magnificent example of a new film maker at his creative best. With Snatch though it feels like Guy Ritchie found his comfort zone and set up permanent camp there.

The film contains some very clever dialogue, and many of the characters display a deep philosophical intelligence you don't expect from a thug - this brings humour and style, but it also seems as though the film tries a bit too hard to be 'Lock, Stock...'.

Jack-the-Lads, guns, snappy dressers, and uber-cool lines initially grace the screen nicely, but it eventually comes clear that these are being shoe-horned in to build a trendy flick. But when you can see through it - it just doesn't work.

In a nutshell: Whereas a 'Lock, Stock...' was ... Read More:

The inventiveness is gone in this film, and while there's plenty of gore it doesn't have the ingenuity that made the first two films so effective. It's just about worth seeing but nothing great.

And once again, little old Jacobi is back to the charge with the promise of
more yuks and huyuks than ever in the rip-roaring, funtastic,
abso-bloody-lutely awesome series, Cadfael -- well, not really.

And I might as well say "well" with the good ole Jacobian emphasis (try
WE-e-E-elll), as we're in for more Jacobian smirks than ever, ranging from the
sad, beady eyes of a French bulldog to the glittery expression of a Lutheran
heretic centuries before his time.

So, may we say that Cadfael ranks among the greatest British series of all
time? Let's have a closer look...

I - Elementary, my dear Oswin...

I somewhere heard someone comparing Cadfael to Sherlock Holmes -- God
forbid! Upon reading the Sherlock Holmes novels, ... Read More:
