Unlike in Britain, where sitcoms tend to have shorter series and quit while they're ahead, American comedies are bled dry by the networks and finish long after they should have. Scrubs, one of the funniest and most original shows on television for its first three or four seasons, had a considerable drop-off in quality by its fifth season. As so often happens, characters became exaggerated versions of themselves and everything starts to feel familiar.

As such, season six is the sixth best season of Scrubs. Many of the problems from the fifth season remain - Dr. Kelso, previously just an out-of-touch, but loveable chauvinist, is still a sexual deviant in an unfunny way. As with Family Guy, many background or one-off ... Read More:

Jack Black is beloved in our family. I admired him first in The Jackal, where he was blown to bits. My kids insisted I buy this movie, due to the fantastic TV advertising for it. We sat down to watch and after 18 minutes and the first batch of popcorn, we decided to start fast-forwarding to see if things would move on. It's true there are some set-pieces which are amusing but the pace is as slow as can be and the characters are simply not likable. I have taken it back to the shop to argue that 'I got the wrong Jack Black movie'.

I'll keep this short and sweet.

This is an absolutely fantastic DVD. It really captured just what it was like to be there - the madness and the chaos of being in that crowd is represented really well (I even get in a couple of shots, though not as much as some others sadly!).

The picture and sound quality is second to none, everything is as crisp and clear as being there.

The Pistols themselves are completely on form and back to their snarling best, tearing through all the classics and even finding time for a little sing-a-long with the crowd. Rotten is vicious and abrasive but he truly appreciates the fans, calling them the stars of the show.

Great extras too, I watched them straight away and really ... Read More:

Foret 24 or Lost or ANYTHING that's ever been on TV, video/DVD or in cinema. The Shield simply is the BEST THAT'S EVER BEEN FILMED. Also I have never seen a series maintain its high quality over six seasons. Although not as intense as season 5 - my personal favorite DESPITE BEING CUT - season 6 rocks. With Whitaker down Chiklis must face his worst enemy who is within the team. Season 6 starts out slowly, but strikes hard. A MUST BUY! I don't know whether the UK version is cut or not, but I bought it and watched it, and didn't care if it was cut. Everything you need to see is here.
Chiklis and ALL the other cast deliver striking performances, the writers are just fantastic and unlike other series you don't get unnecessary episodes just to fill up ... Read More:

House is one of those shows that you miss when it has run its first season and you missed it, yet you constantly hear your friends talk about it. You think that because it's so popular, it must be terrible, as that's simply the way it goes sometimes as TV shows that have such a massive mainstream popularity tend to be shallow and generally not very good. House is different, so different in fact that they have a great British comic actor play a genius M.D. by the name of Gregory House.

Medical shows through the history of television tend to be quite cliché and something that isn't too gripping. House is different. It brings the American medical drama into a completely new direction and revives the whole genre. House specialises is mystery ... Read More:

Not since Bonnie Langford have people feared the return of another red-headed companion... I know a lot of people were less than pleased to hear that Catherine Tate was to be brought back for this series, but I personally enjoyed her portrayal of Donna (even if I didn't love everything about her Christmas special episode).

The character needed depth, and she got it. Left feeling disillusioned since The Runaway Bride she manages to find The Doctor and pretty much invite herself into the TARDIS - and I'm glad she did. Since Doctor Who was re-launched it has managed to capture some brilliant moments. With Catherine Tate in the series, you always knew the writers would tap into her comedy credentials, and the scene from the first episode where Donna ... Read More:

A "then-and-now" romance presented through flashbacks and readings (from the "Notebook") by an aging James Garner to a dementia patient. The love-story starts in a WW2 southern US summer and unfolds through the reading. The star-crossed young lovers are entirely convincing and very-well portrayed. With a bitter-sweet, predictable storyline, this is a curl-up-on-the-sofa, wet Sunday afternoon film with some lovely photography. Keep a tissue to hand!
