This film has recieved mixed reviews to say the least, but in all fairness this was a very enjoyable and exciting film. The aging hero is played superbly by Dennis Quaid, while not exactly oscar winning, it is a solid and believable performance that once again reminds us that Hollywood has become a baron land for strong and believable action heroes (Where is the next Harrison Ford coming from?). One plot twist too many almost proves to be the film's downfall, but the first 30 minutes remain well paced and exilerating. The film falters slightly in the middle, but just about manages to keep the adrenaline pumping, while the well edited car chase finale proves to be one of the finest to come out of Hollywood in many a year. ... The show has top-notch plots and writing, Decker and Headey are first-rate, and the action as good as can be expected in a TV show. The show's one problem? Summer Glau. There's no doubting the girl's attractiveness, but her acting in this and every role I've seen her in (The 4400, The Unit, and this), is best described as one-note. Some girls can pull off the bad ass, she can't.

I am a big fan of Soul, Blues, R'n'B and associated genres and so came to this essentially for the music which is astoundingly good. It would be worth seeing just for the music, but although the story does seem to have been constructed around the opportunity to see and hear legendary artists perform, it is rightly been a cult film due to the slightly oddball nature of the story, the well known set pieces (car chases, nuns and rulers, James Brown's turn as a preacher, Carrie Fisher as a vengeful ex) it is an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours.

Yes, it was witty and enjoyable. I am glad that I have added this to my Austen Collection. Loved the photography in Bath. I wasn't so impresed with the acting but overall a good interpretation. Our Jane was quite a racy woman.

After 50+ years of enjoying cinema,films of all types..but mostly films that engage the audience and require input...I have never complained about a Director of Photography before....every episode of "Rome" that mentioned the dreaded Marco Pontecorvo as the DOP..stand by for an amateur version of "The Shield"-all hand held..in your face,up your bum-whatever..wobbly picture,jerky background,cast walking right across the foreground of the frame-absolute RUBBISH..and with a famous Director as his father!!!- a little man with a massive ego..and directors letting him get away with it?Although this element stinks the place out-everything else about "Rome" is superb.

I have read many a glowing review of this film even on the Amazon site.I watched the film myself and have to say it is one of the most irritating films I have seen. To start off,it's a hand held camera job(yawn!).I assume that this is to give the film realism.The problem is that the people being filmed are in the main annoying as hell and you don't care what happens to them.I got the impression that a lot of the dialogue was improvised.There are only so many times you can scream 'Oh my God' in a very unconvincing fashion before it becomes tedious and completely irrelevant.This also led to many scenes of pretty poor acting. Poorly scripted,tedious and unoriginal,this is a film that I just can't recommend.

Missed this series when it first came out due to working away a lot but recently got this edition on DVD and I absolutely love it. The characters and casting are excellent and I just couldn't help falling for Jessica Hynes who is funny, clever, talented and very sexy! Simon Pegg does not dissapoint, in fact the whole cast are marvelous. Thoroughly reccommend this if you like a good laugh, British comedy at its best.

NB: couple of minor spoilers in my review. I came to Grey's Anatomy a little late, as in the UK the only terrestrial channel it's broadcast on is one I couldn't get for years. Luckily, I managed to catch the last half dozen episodes of Series 2, and I was hooked, even though I hate hospital shows. I could never get into ER (even with the incentive of George Clooney) and don't even get me started on the home-grown stuff. So what attracted me to Grey's Anatomy? Yes, it's glossy. Yes, it's gloopy. Yes, Meredith is probably one of the most annoying characters on TV. Yes, Derek is interminably dull. BUT, there's more to the show than that. If you have been addicted to The L Word and QAF USA before it, Dante's Cove is right up your street! For the boys, well it's damn obvious why you would want to be watching this! And ladies, start with Season 3!!! Out actresses Jill Bennett, Michelle Wolffe and Jenny Schimizu are all on hand to provide much deserved lesbian action this season. A dark force has arrived on Dante's Cove. Jill Bennett steps into the shoes of Michelle (previously portrayed by another actress!), brought back from the dead by the ever sexy Diana (Thea Gill from QAF USA).
