I had really high hopes for this movie, being a huge fan of Steve Carell in the Office. Sadly though it doesnt deliver. Apart from a few slapstick scenes its not funny. There are loads of annoying things about it, The most being that Steves co-workers rip on him for cycling to work!!!! That is so American, avoid, avoid, avoid!!!

I found this a definitely watchable film, focusing on Russian organised crime in London with a particular slant on the smuggling of young girls brought in from Russia, the Ukraine and elsewhere for prostitution. One such 14-year old is raped by her paymaster and becomes pregnant, but dies in hospital in childbirth. Midwife Naomi Watts wants to take the baby to the unknown girl's family and in the process unwittingly becomes involved with people who will go to any length to keep the dead mother's secrets (revealed in a diary) unknown to the outside world.

Viggo Mortensen is convincing as the Russian gangster, Vincent Cassel less so as his accent frequently reveals his French upper-class background. One of the more noteworthy scenes ... Read More:

Series 4 of the new Doctor Who has been in my opinion, one of the finest series ever. David Tennant remains as brilliant as ever, and if anything changes, it's that he can only get better as time goes on. Catherine Tate, has surprised and amazed me, with her portrayal of Donna Noble in this series, making the character such a credible, efficient and lovable assistant to the Doctor.

All this excellence continues in this fine volume of the fourth series, as Russell T Davies revives another old villainous race from the Doctor's past, introduces more allies and facts from the Time Lord's past (the older series to be exact) and includes some more good old interaction with one of history's greatest figures.

To start of, we have (essentially) ... Read More:

If series one of Green Wing was a stand alone thing, it would be the pride of my DVD collection. I would think it was one of the best things since... well, sliced bread. But despite it being one of the most watched DVDs on my shelf, it is now tainted by its older brothers sat next to it. Series 2 tries very hard to recapture what made Series 1 so groundbreakingly fab; but it is so obvious that they are trying hard - the visual gags, fast forwards and fast editing style are all still there, the jokes are as thick and fast as before. Some scenes are so much funnier than any in the first series, but it doesn't work this time, there is a real feeling that it is contrived and forced. Some bits work better than others, what really switched me off was the constant ups and downs between ... Read More:

Semi-autobiographical tale from the early life of director Franco Zeffirelli looks at the illegitimate son of an Italian businessman. The boy's mother has died, and he is raised by an Englishwoman (Joan Plowright) in pre-WWII Fascist Italy. Living to each other in Florence, and presided over by an ambassador's widow (Maggie Smith), a group of Englishwomen live a sheltered existence which they believe is guaranteed personal protection in a tea reception given by Il Duce. However, as war breaks out, the women are interned. Occasionally in this English colony is a wealthy American (Cher), who visits among her travels and marriages to wealthy older men. She respects the "Scorpioni", as they are known, and secretly arranges for their stay in a hotel. When the United States ... Read More:

When this first started on Channel 5 I decided to just skip it. It looked like a second rate CSI clone, and at the time I wasn't finding CSI to be that great. Anyway, why bother watching hours and hours of it for weeks and weeks when you could watch the real programme?

Years later and my Dad bought the box sets. So I decided to give it a try. The pilot episode was decent so I continued with it. After two or three poor early episodes, it got into its stride and was very entertaining.

The one thing my Mum complains about is the constant "unprofessional" digging at each other between the characters. I think she's missing the point as that's what makes it good. This constant funny dialogue also makes the lead characters a bit more interesting, appealing and entertaining than the ... Read More:

Managed to miss out on this when it was shown for the only time, and was beginning to think I would never get to see it! But low and behold, we have this glorious DVD, and it's even better then I hoped. Original, Dark and Very funny, I love it. Also great Music by Matt Berry - check out his album 'Opium' for more of the same brilliance.

This must rank as one of the best deals ever on Amazon. Why? well for one you get every episode and film in the b5 universe to date. Then there's the extras you get on the disc and as a bonified b5 fan (anyone can count themselves one if you cried during the episode sleeping in light fifth season) seeing the way the box has been presented the quality and style gladdens me to the core. It's not just the packaging that's nice it's the space saving it offers as well. The icing on the cake is the latest b5 offering Lost Tales. This has really got me excited because i didnt know what to expect and wondered if it would be something of an antic climax but no it's FANTASTIC. The visuals are awesome and extras too i'll have to do a seperate review of it. The main point i'd like to make it sums up what babylon 5 is all about which ... Read More:
