An enjoyable film , but not as powerful or as moving as the film Amistad in conveying the cruelty and injustice of slavery. Despite this, an enjoyable film, especially the rousing bagpipe rendition of Amazing Grace at the end which was worth the price of the DVD alone.

No doubt, this could have been a very fine documentary. The tribes presented are among the least known and most fascinating on the planet. Therefore, footage of any kind concerning their life is valuable. The problem is that, watching the series, you get the feeling that it is mostly focused on Bruce Parry himself, and how he manages to survive under impossible circumstances. In almost every single scene we see Parry trying to show us how well adapted he has become within the tribe: eating beetles and rats, building his hut, climbing trees, taking hallucinogenic drugs, urinating among the reindeer, or simply having a good time with the local people. Is what I was mentally shouting at this DVD from about ten minutes in. I continued with that mantra to the very end. I don't know why I persevered. It doesn't improve. It completely failed to draw me into the story right from the start and I left the room a few times without pausing, which is never a good sign. Simon Pegg's films just seem to get worse and worse. Shaun of the Dead was excellent, Hot Fuzz was similar but less funny, though it was saved by the action sequences, and Run Fat Boy Run is lame. The jokes are so unfunny and the acting is glib. series 1 started off everything(makes sense)but seriously if it weren't for the success of this series then the show wouldn't have survived...thanks to the amazing writers and crew behind it and some fab actors. eppy guide- Rose-4/5-the start...and what a great start it is too...Billie Piper CAN act as the great Rose Tyler and the Autons are very creepy. The end of the world-4/5-very good all round episode tht boasts some amazing visuals. the unquiet dead-4/5-very scary episode with some terrifying zombies...and the doctor meets Charles Dickens. i bought this for my wife and she was absolutely transfixed some scary moments even for her a most avid viewer, well worth buying

This is one of those dvds you can get out any time of year over and over again and it still appeals. Who would have thought combining a witch, a doctor and WWII would create such wonder. The characters created by Angela Lansbury (Miss Price the good witch) and David Thomlinson (Dr Amelius Brown)are wonderful and the combination of settings, singing, dancing and animation are very well balanced. Our whole family love this film.

I have just purchased this Box Set here in Dublin and am looking forward to getting stuck into this classic series. I previously had most of the eposides recorded on VHS from the 90's, they are going in the bin to be replaced with this very attractive box set. Very well packaged and presented this is a must for any Morse fan and is currently on sale at a very pleasing price compared too previous prices even a few months ago. All the 33 eposides are presented in this box set as well as 3 hours of factual documentaries. I just have to get a ''Do not Disturb'' sign for the next 30 odd hours. !!!!

Boston Legal is an excellent series which has many fine characters and stories. there however a couple of down points with this particular season. First Denny, there are a couple of times that he steps over the bounds from being humourously horny to lechorous, it's noticeable and you do feel like yuk!!! The second is the amount of political sniping and commentary which turns up especially oft used comments like "This Government" mind you Denny running for a presidential candidate was pure gold. Apart from that this is a really fun series which at times makes you laugh out loud. Whilst it isn't as good as the first three seasons it does have some truly memorable moments and some excellent guest stars. As always the various speeches from the lawyers are slick and smooth. ...
