I purchased this entire box set on VHS from Amazon.co.uk a few years ago after seeing episodes of Some Mothers 'Do Ave Em' on the BBC and UKGold channels. The series was going well before I was born as I was born in 1980 and having watched the repeats I fell in love with the series and just had to buy the box set when I found out one was available after browsing the internet! Enjoy again and again this classic, timeless vintage BBC comedy starring Michael Crawford as accident prone Frank Spencer and Michele Dotrice as suffering wife Betty. Hi Ros, The American 6 disc version has the following soundtracks: English-Portuguese-Spanish-Italian-French. Subtitles: English-French-Spanish-Dutch(lucky me)-Italian-Portuguese. The 3-disc UK version has English sound & subtitling only. Thought I'd let you know, as I know that many Croatians are good at Italian! If not, don't fret, I'm sure there'll be a multi language Euro version next year...

I think most people have seen the film and already know whether they like it or not when considering buying this DVD. So I'll talk specifically about this DVD. The film has been restored beyond its original brilliance. If you pay close attention, particularly at a still-frame, you will realize that what Disney means by this is that they didn;t really restore it but just went ahead and rapaint every single frame digitally. SO certainly the feel has nothing of the warmth and life of the hand-coloured original. Luckily, the studio seems to have taken quite great care with this and so the recolouring is not too obtrusive, only becoming helplessly intrusive in certain scenes. When I first read reviews on Benidorm I knew I would find it funny and had to buy it. Within the first 5 minutes of watching it I was laughing out loud. The characters and acting are first class. After a bad day at work I was able to switch off and watch a comedy that is so true to life. I was still giggling away to myself the next morning on my way to work thinking of all the really funny parts. I know it's a DVD I will never tire of watching, just like The Royle Family. I went to Benidorm about 8 years ago and even saw Sticky Vicky (she is real). My favourite characters have to be the swinging couple, they are classic. I also loved the Garvey family, I have met many people like that on holiday and in day to day life.

I'm a BIG Harry Hill fan and this is one of the best I've seen. Not too many songs and interruptions from the Harrys. Not too many interruptions from guests. Just great stand up, silly story telling and friendly audience baiting from Harry. Stories include his Nan's trip to the zoo, and her embalmment. What sweets he took on his space shuttle missions. Keeping his tools in the back of his van, and a great new system for comparing marine animals with nuts, fruit and snacks. I have a confession to make: I didn't really enjoy Pretty Woman that much, and Four Weddings and a Funeral (not to mention Mickey Blue Eyes, Two Weeks Notice and About a Boy) didn't really do it for me. However, in Notting Hill, as far as I am concerned, everything comes together for Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, delivering a landmark in the gentle countryside of romantic comedy. This is not the only time that Julia Roberts plays a version of herself -- she knowingly sends herself up in Ocean's Twelve. And this is not the only time Hugh Grant has played this particular character -- heck, it's the good-natured but over-witty English fopp he always plays. The conclusion to the Sara Saga is excellently pulled off and will certainly bring a tear to the eye of the most faithful CSI fan. Some of the episodes are a bit poor - such as the story of the young lad who develops breasts - but these are balanced out by the other episodes. Shame there's not as many episodes as there normally are but worth the purchase all the same.

Shame there's not as many episodes as there normally are but worth the purchase all the same.
