Not just the best studio ghibli film but the best film ever. The storyline is brilliant. The animation is breath taking and to top it off the characters are excellent.
I would recommend this film to anyone anime fan or not.

Edward (Depp), born with scissors for hands, is brought into the local village and becomes the talk of the town.

God bless Tim Burton. Who in their right minds would take a fairy tale and include a man with scissors for hands? Burton's sheer strangeness continues after his beautiful Beetlejuice and Batman in this darkly colourful fantasy drama and throws the fairytale convention out of the window. Burton is an inspiration to the film industry, a man who does everything differently and there is no one else out there like him, and his finally cut creation, inspired by one of his own drawings, is a sentimental spark in his collection, his most touching to date.

For those fairytale lovers out there don't worry. This 1990 ... Read More:

The simplicity of this film, along with superb acting and a wonderful script make this a classic. I can say very little more about this film than other reviewers have already done, but i stress the importance of watching this film, especially if you are British.

The catchphrases (I'm not drunk; I've only had a little ale) resound as relevantly and humourously now as they did then, and of course the idea of the struggling acting is a constant theme and is so well epitomised here.

For the sake of your own humanity and culture I would implore you to watch this film and feast your eyes on a great episode in British film making.

After throwing a secret party for his son Chris's 12th birthday , Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams) lands himself in hot water with his wife Miranda (Sally Field) and she demands a divorce.

When Miranda wants to hire a housekeeper to look after the children, Daniel is outraged that Miranda would rather let a stranger look after the children than him so with a little help from his make-up artist brother, Daniel turns up to an interview as Mrs Doubtfire, a british nanny who has 15 years experience under her belt and is hired on the spot.

Mrs Doubtfire is a fantastic family film that is funny, sad and touching all at the same time.

An old mod named Ben Dinsdale gave me this classic album in 1996 before we attended the Hyde Park concert in July of that year -- The Who play Quadrophenia for the Princes Trust Charity. This album has since become my favourite. It is the best Who album. It is perfect.

Steph: "Going to be one of the faces?"
Jimmy: "What do you mean going to be? I AM one of the faces!"

After a shag in an alleyway during a riot:
Steph : "It didnt mean anything Jimmy."
Jimmy : "It fu%%ing did to me" he screams as the heart is ripped from his chest and stomped on by Lesley Ash-- Troutmouth.

At the time of the release of their second double album rock opera Quadrophenia at the end of 1975, The `Beatles' had long since ... Read More:

Does anybody know what is on Disc 2? I suspect there might be some extras and I am hoping one of which is the documentary Shadowing the Third Man, but would like to know for sure before I buy it. Shame that Amazon is sometimes so lax about product descriptions.

I have watched this film five or six times on an old VHS version and every time I watch it, I discover something new and enthralling. The film is superb, bigger than life and definitely one of the greatest ever made!
