These cartoons are priceless to the current new look Mr Men series on Channel 5.
It's fair to say that the animation wasn't the best even at the time of original release. The show purely carried by the Mr Men themselves.
Each short cartoon follows a different Mr Man on their adventure, sticking closely to the original books. The narrator is none other than Arthur Lowe (Captain Manwaring, Dads Army).
The cartoons do look dated now, but the episodes are classic and very charming. The Mr Men are a fantastic bunch of characters and it is nice to see them still as popular today.

Upto now I have quietly enjoyed the first 3 movies although they were nothing special. In previous reviews I gave all of them 3/5 and to be honest up until the final 20 minutes I was about to award the same for 'the Goblet of Fire'. The finale' certainly makes this film and we see Lord Voldermort at his evil best. Actually, it is a darker more absorbing film than the others and carries on in a similar vien to 'The Prisoner of Askaban'. The downside to this film is that it does drag on for a bit but that doesnt really bother you until you watch it again. For your children, they will find this scarier than the others .... but not too scary. Enjoyable for kids, enjoyable for adults.

First of all, let's laugh at the adults moaning about this film being 'terrible' or 'shallow'. Apart from being entirely wrong, they also seem to have forgotten that this ones for the kids!
There are really two points of view that matter here; the kid that watches the movie repeatedly and the adult that has to put up with it! On the first account my three year old son has been watching this for at least a year and still loves it. Multiple viewings don't seem to have tarnished it much at all and the opening three minutes still make him giggle with delight.
For me, as the suffering adult, I'd still give it a high rating. The animation is stylish, the casting perfect and the script funny. As has been mentioned in other reviews, the penguins ... Read More:

I can't say I was terribly impressed by this. I have never been much of a fan of Winne the Pooh, but this being such an...English....series of books, the American accents of all the characters in this Disney animation (bar Christopher Robin, who only puts in an appearance during the last two minutes of the film) soon began to grate. I'm sure this point has been complained about by many people many times before, but it is startlingly annoying. I'm sure the kids won't notice, but if you have to watch it with them - you might.

That said real reason I am writing this review is that I was absolutely astonished by the 'disaster movie' ending of this film - in which everyone is flung about during an avalanch which stikes a collapsing pine tree. I ... Read More:

Was totally stunned by the quality of the picture running at 1080p! Only the second bluey I've thought better than upscaled DVD. Good to see the disk space used for the main feature and a few little high quality extras - not the usual rubbish that you honestly never bother watching.

I'll admit it...I like the movie. A lot. The story line -- the little orphan who unselfconsciously endears herself to others through her optimism and uncomplicated view of things -- could, in less expert hands, make a pig gag. Instead, and thanks in large part to Hayley Mills' performance, we have a sweet-natured family film which any number of adults may enjoy, especially if they watch it with their children. What I like about the movie:

1. Hayley Mills. She was a child actor who had talent and an un-pushy, natural personality. She wasn't a little tricked-up beauty queen who looked like a cheap doll. She just seemed like a nice, shrewder-than-you'd-expect kid. I doubt if the movie would have worked anywhere near as well as it does without Mills. ... Read More:

I've always had a soft spot for funny animated films, and these are 2 of the best ones that you will ever see. Shrek and Toy Story led the way with films that appealed to kids but did not neglect the adult audience with elements of humour that ensured the older person would enjoy the movie as well.

The star of the show in the 2 Ice Age films is most certainly Scrat (the squirrel-rat), he is an absolute legend!! His short moments are the funniest without doubt, but the other characters are very likeable as well, most notably Sid the Sloth.

This double pack is a real bargain, as there are some decent extras on the DVD's as well. The rumour is, that Ice Age 3 will be released next summer and I am looking forward to the third part in this extremely enjoyable ... Read More:

In the age where there are several top 3d animation companies, the idea is to be different, and try to maintain your own style, and not to copy others. I feel sony animations has done just that. They have a certain swagger about this films look, and the way the characters are presented to the audience.

The story is based around the main theme of an "open season" for hunting, and invloves animals who are affected by this. Without giving the story away, this film has great story depth, well developed characters, great iconic moments, some breaktaking scenes (such as the river scene....sweet), some crazy moments, strokes of geniusness, and it creates a great atmosphere.

This film stands firmly on its own two feet, and for being the first film from sony animations, ... Read More:
