I'm reviewing FOSSE from a position of relative ignorance about the man and his achievements. Hey, it's never stopped me before. FOSSE records a live-audience performance of the musical, which is a compendium of selections from various other Broadway productions which Bob Fosse choreographed: "Big Deal", "Liza with A Z", "Dancin'", "Sweet Charity", "Kiss Me, Kate", "Damn Yankees", "Pajama Game", "Chicago", "Pippin", "Cabaret", and "All That Jazz". I've never seen any of them performed live on stage, but only the screen versions of DAMN YANKEES (1958) AND CHICAGO (2002). Obviously, I need to get out more. Having tried to lose weight for years, my DVD rack is largely a collection of workouts gathering dust. However, this is one that I keep coming back to. The reason being that it's fun, safe and not at all boring. Nikki instructs well, and Angela's smile is infectious. The different sections provide variety - the toning section at the end is a killer! The other sections are easy to follow and time passes quickly. I am very unfit, and they leave me warm, but motivated. The moves are suitable for people like me who live in a small flat, as you can do them in quite a limited space, and there are no jumps, so you will not annoy the neighbours, or worse, fall through their ceiling! Having seen other learn-to dance videos (especially Learn to Jive with Kav Kavannagh ) I was hoping to get to at least beyond beginner stage with Discover Dance - Latin....that DVD is strictly for beginners who do not believe they could progress. You get shown one or two very basic moves (granted, from various angles) and a promise that next DVD will be more It. Also, it is a very old fashioned style Latin dance- a ballroom in a resort style, nothing of the dynamics and vitality of Latin dance club. If that is what you want, fine, but if not-best choose another DVD.

Isabella's Power Workout I got this a few months ago and I would say it is a very good toning dvd. It is made up of a warm up which is ok if a bit lack lustre. Then it goes onto leg work with cardio inbetween. This bit does hurt the first few times you do it but it does get easier with time. Then there is floor work which targets hips, bums and tums. These are good but after a few times of doing this you probably need to add more reps. The cool down is relaxing after the workout. I would say this is a good workout to alternate with others but not to do more than once a week because Isabella is boring to watch and her instructor is just as bad and there is no chemistry between them or the audience. Purchased this on Thursday and received it Friday morning, very pleased! Played fine on Xbox 360 HD drive no problem as I had already updated the firmware on the drive with a patch from Microsoft dated 12/2007, which is still available for those having issues. HD DVD good quality, alot of different samples to view, worth the buy!
