People should not be put off by the title-this is an excellent DVD that brings all sorts of different elements to bellydance. I thought the music would be all industrial goth metal, but this DVD acknowledges that "gothic" goes far beyond a music genre and features dancing influenced by american tribal, flamenco fusion and other contemporary styles, all brought together to convey the mystery and darkness that can be contained in bellydance. I had my reservations about this DVD but I'm so glad I bought it.

I am Anglo Irish and I used to dance when I was young. I am a pensioner now and have not danced for years but this DVD helped me remember some of the steps and was a great joy to watch and I was even trying to dance before getting out of breath! Colin Dunne is a great teacher and dancer and the music was good. The set was nothing to shout about but it enabled you to concentrate on the dancing. Well worth every penny and if you want to learn how they do it buy this DVD. Thank you Colin!

I was recommended to do this as a detox, not a diet. I did it about 6 months ago after a friend lent me the video and can honestly say I have never felt so good. Diets never work for me, but if you follow the detox properly, you wont even want anything bad for you. I was amazed to find by day 4 I did not want any of my usual favourite take away and other junk food. I recommend this to everyone.

i bought this dvd and was very concious that it may not work but it worked after about 2 weeks and i have lost weight! its highly recommended

I could not accept that I would use this DVD for tuition if I had to look at the background curtains and a generally a scruffy set up. The moves however and general tuition were sufficient to give you a basis for learning this movement. I am searching for other DVDs of T'ai Chi and will only come back to this one if all else fails.

Also, the dances were shown at one of two speeds: crawl or hyper-fast. The really slow speed was good for learning the steps, but it would have been nice to have a speed in between so we could get used to how it was in the actual performance. I found some of the moves in the performance to be somewhat different to what we were taught; for example, what was shown as a full body roll to the side was really only a quick head roll in the performance.

I have been into yoga for about 5 years now and practise 4-5 times per week in a yoga room in the house I live in, in Spain. Rodney Yees instruction is second to none, you do not need to look at the monitor just listen to his voice which is soothing yet motivating. This dvd is fab, really hard work for 30 minutes, not for a beginner though. I have all of Rodneys dvds and they are all super, I am working on completing all his moves in his advanced class which as yet not managed but maybe in a couple of years I may. These dvds coupled with David Swenson primary series are the ones that should be bought for all yoga enthusiasts. Namaste Clare
