The exercises in this video are made too fast for yoga beginners. I would not recommend it for Yoga beginners. In fact, only the last part, the stretching and relaxation part, is suitable for yoga beginners. Sorry but I have seen better.

I've got 4 or 5 of Lynne Robinson's DVDs and have always found them to be effective. When I started doing her workouts (about 10 years ago now!) I remember people asking whether I had lot weight. I hadn't, I'd just toned up in all the right places and sorted out my posture. What I love about this DVD is that it's great for beginners, but also has some really challenging exercises for those of us who have been doing Pilates for a while. I totally agree with one of the other reviewers, if you've got your technique correct then Pilates is demanding - I actually find it tougher now than when I first started!

If I remember correctly this is a late 90s production that was once sold on Amazon.com in region 1 VHS format and was titled " David Carradines Tai Chi For The Mind & Body" and received mostly impressive reviews. This long awaited UK DVD version has the added bonus of some nice stuff in the extras menu and also the advantage of being able to choose either the AM (mind) or the PM (body) routine at the push of a button and without any old fashioned fast forewarding. It is a shame they never kept the Mind & Body title but that does not take away the fact that this is very simple and highly enjoyable and beneficial couple of Tai Chi workouts The first session is the AM (mind) Tai Chi and fine for any time of day. As a male I was dubious about this but I have to say it actually works!!! I have been hooping for about 4 months now and I have Abs!! It's a fun DVD that many people can follow from kids to the older crowd. There are simple steps to follow and believe me when I first started with a hoop I was a disaster. I do about 10 - 20minutes per day and I can now do tricks and impress the people I need to. This DVD is different from all the other celeb driven titles out there and buying from Amazon is the cheapest place I found.... Get hooping folks... It's the way to go!!!!!!

I am a fan of the TV show Strictly Come Dancing and read the reviews on here so thought I'd buy the DVD. I wish I hadn't bothered now. Yeah they can dance and some of the dancing is beautiful but it isn't that good to be honest with you. The music is RUBBISH and the dancing is OK with some nice bits here and there but that doesn't constitute to being good. I personally think this DVD is a waste of money, the music ruins it for me personally. I could watched some of the dancing they do if the music was much better but sadly it wasn't. It hasn't put me off watching the TV show but I will be careful what I buy in future.

I'm trying to get fit after having a baby a year ago and thought I'd try a workout DVD to get myself going. Davina McCall seems to have fronted quite a few recently and she's looking pretty fit, so here goes... Anyway, this exercise programme is divided into three thirty minute workouts, which seek to tone and work every muscle in your body, so far so good. The first workout, 'the pump' is interval cardio training mixed with loads of lunges, squats and abdominal exercises and although I walk everywhere, the lunges and squats were really difficult and I felt it for the next few days. This is a really fun DVD to do, clearly explained, and nicely broken down into steps. I haven't tried the fast dance yet... the slow one is challenging enough to start with! But she explains the core principles, like where you're facing and using your knees to get the moves, and the small sections for practice help you to buid up the full dance. The complete dance on a loop is a great feature too. The demonstration of dancing by Neon is lovely, but I wisdh the camera would stay in one place... belly dancing is meant to be seen from the front, not above! The main problem though is that it isn't truly an All Region DVD. My DVD player can't play it, although my PC DVD player can, and I like it enough to keep it to use there. I wasn't convinced I'd enjoy yoga as I'm a road cyclist and triathlete so if it doesn't hurt, then it's not worth doing. But I really enjoy this work out. I try and do it every few days and feel great afterwards - really stretched out. The time goes very quickly as each exercise moves quickly into the next.
