Every celebrity or sportsman with nothing better to do seems to have released a "Football Moments" DVD. The thing is, none of them are very good. However, Ian Wright's "It Shouldn't Happen To A Footballer" is probably the only one you need. It's a coundown of the thirty funniest moments on the football pitch. Whilst the clips aren't all really famous, the DVD does us a favour by not showing obscure, fuzzy videos from the Brazilian Division 5. There are some truly excellent moments: Who could forget Pires' penalty? Or Phil Babb's desperate defending leading to one of the most painful moments you can stand to watch? I'm a Reds supporter so this DVD shows the definitive record of the 2000/2001 season as the club's manager Gerard Houllier has guided them to a famous treble by winning the League Cup, FA Cup and the UEFA Cup which is a feat in itself. The campaign also see the Reds netted 127 goals in all 63 games throughout the season but there is plenty of highlights on offer here which includes a penalty shootout triumph over Birmingham City which secured the League Cup at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, glorious league doubles over Manchester United and Everton respectively and the away fixture against Everton in the league in particular had a dramatic twist in the end with Gary McAllister scoring a last gasp winner from a free-kick in that match, star striker ... I'd long been considering buying this DVD set & after receiving it as a present earlier this year I quickly sat down to watch it and have to say it's a great few hours worth of enjoyment. Each of the three Managers have approximately an hour of main programming dedicated to each of them & what I was particularly impressed with was the fact that I hadn't previously seen much of the footage presented & I do own a large number of Liverpool FC related DVD's & videos. Additional to the main programmes there's also a number of extra features although I did find some of these a little random ! Having watched the video release I can safely say this captures the magic of Le Tiss, showing his best moments in Southampton's colours. Includes the goal against Newcastle voted the 2nd best Premiership goal ever on Sky One. If you are a Saints fan buy it, Pompey fans should probably avoid it as it will reduce them to tears.
