This blu-ray transfer is the collectors edition that was recently released on DVD and features the same 16:9 transfer and the same extras. If you are a fan of the movie, then I can only add here that the HD transfer is another gear or two up from the DVD and looks great at 1080p for a film of its age that was shot using some unorthodox old fashioned techniques and a lot of improvisation in places, as revealed in a fascinating feature amongst the plentiful extras, which includes a directors commentary, deleted scenes, a fascinating making of etc (including Gary Oldman throwing a strop and walking off set at one point - great fun!). It wasn't shot digitally so don't expect blu-ray miracles but its plenty good enough and a terrific film. The disc ... Read More:

I have to say that not many 'Horror films' actually scare me. Too many are formulaic and provide nothing new or intriguing. When I read about this film I hesitated due to the fact it was made by the makers of SAW, it tends to make you feel it will be another slasher/gore fest.

However this is not the case! This is the best horror film I have seen in a long time, and genuinely leaves you feeling disturbed, particularly if you have an overactive imagination! The story is unique; how many horror movies have you heard of about ventriloquist women burying themselves with their dolls, who then return from the dead to seek revenge on those who put her in the grave, by tearing out their tongues? Not many I would bet. The set is dark, ... Read More:

Many of us followed buffy anne summers battle vampires, zombies, warewolves and other blood sucking creatures for the past 7 years but now its finaly over (well in 2003 of course). contains all 22 episodes but this is the finale ever season of the show. the most important is the finale episode (chosen) the show ends with a bang, 2 main characters get killed of (anya and spike). buffy is not the slayer anymore in the end so she can relax while another girl takes over as the slayer. angel returns for a brief moment. so i sugest you if your new watch all 6 seasons of buffy and then watch this finale season 7 of the show. get your hankies out at the ready.

Buffy will be missed.

I bought this film under the impression that it was great film, how wrong I was. The acting is wooden, the people seem like they are enjoying being stuck in a mall full of dead caniballs. The zombies make-up is appalling, they look crap, and the film is over 2 hours long, making it unbearable to watch. Avoid this trash at all costs and watch the remake as it is 100 times better.

I'm not sure what to make of the director... I loved the Sixth Sense and it seems that everything he has made since has struggled to live up to that benchmark. Knowing this, I tried to approach the film with an open mind.

This is another "good" faery tale from him, but no sensation. There are moments when the acting slips from the tongue-in-cheek to simply poor, and the plot/pacing would have been more suited to a TV series. However, if you approach without preconceptions, you may find yourself enjoying it's slow-burning oddness - though having paid a shade under £20, I have been left underwhelmed.

I did not enjoy this movie. The acting, especially from Kristin Stewart (the lead) was wooden at best, and her character was very unsympathetic. A boring, predictable movie with seemingly little plot.

The whole concept is so overdone - family moves to haunted looking house - and guess what; it's haunted! There was nothing original or interesting here that I could see.

'The Messengers' also left me wondering why the ghosts attacked people, as it made absolutely no sense.

I went to see this movie actually quite looking forward to it - but was sorely dissapointed. Go watch something else instead!

In the sequel to 28 days later, the rage virus has passed, the infected have all died and Americans come to England to restore the country.

28 days later showed the true ideology of horror, and British cinema at its best, and 28 weeks later outshines its predecessor with faster direction, closer looks at characters and a more action thriller typed genre to its plot.

Following on from the dramatic ideology of 28 days with the infected was brilliant, and we start by looking at another family who are hiding, in the complete darkness. The narrative never lacks, with the whole concept of danger keeping you on the edge of your seat all the way through. Not necessarily scary, but it will definitely play on your mind. The ending with the new stadium ... Read More:

Hammer added another 'classic' monster with Terence Fisher's THE GORGON (1964). Filled with chilling menace, the film is set in the Transylvanian village of Vandorf, terrorized by a series of killings in which the victims have turned to STONE. The Gorgon, Magaera, is found in the nearby ruins of the Castle Borski, but the discoverer is himself turned to stone, having just time to summon help in the form of his son and his son's tutor, Professor Meinster ( Christopher Lee, in a fine set of whiskers and playing for once, the avenger )! Eventually the Gorgon, is found to be in possession of the beautiful Carla Hoffman (Barbara Shelly) assistant and ex-patient of the sinister Professor Namaroff ( Peter Cushing ). Roy Ashton's ... This film is a perfect 50's classic. Sure the special effects a limited but the acting is spot on. All the actors are perfectly cast and the viewer can see why it spawned so many more like it. The fact that the police are wearing bow ties in the desert is also something to look out for. Great movie.
