After just watching Matrix I was expecting another load of nonsense from this film. Another Sci-fi. However I was pleasantly suprised, and from that day on the original Blade has been and still is my all time fave film.

Wesley Snipes is simply brilliant in this, I've never seen a cooler character than Blade. From his cool sword moves to his funny sarcastic comments "You've met Mr Crispy at the Hospital, what do YOU think!".

In a way I think that Blade is slightly under-rated, however that's not necessarily a bad thing, who knows, if Blade had been more successful the sequels might not have been as good!

I've re-watched all Blade films to the point that I've learnt some russian sentences. And to anyone ... Read More:

Another lousy botch by Hollywood. It seems the creativity well has become so dry that film makers are ever increasingly snapping up classic movies from other cultures and failing miserably to comprehend what made them successful the first time around.

Cinematic arse gravy of the worst kind.

Many of us followed buffy anne summers battle vampires, zombies, warewolves and other blood sucking creatures for the past 7 years but now its finaly over (well in 2003 of course). contains all 22 episodes but this is the finale ever season of the show. the most important is the finale episode (chosen) the show ends with a bang, 2 main characters get killed of (anya and spike). buffy is not the slayer anymore in the end so she can relax while another girl takes over as the slayer. angel returns for a brief moment. so i sugest you if your new watch all 6 seasons of buffy and then watch this finale season 7 of the show. get your hankies out at the ready.

Buffy will be missed.

On a scale of 1-10, 10 being good and 1 being utter s***e I give The Village a score of minus 6.
DO NOT WASTE TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS FILM!!!!!! I've made that mistake already so you don't have to.

The plot is wafer thin, you'll see the so called twist long before the end. By the time you've guessed what is going on stop the film and eject it because at this point you'll only be 5 minutes into the film and you can watch something else instead.

Ok, like me you're probably not one to buy many musicals but you digg Burton and Depp. What to do?
Well, here's my take... in simple terms;
It looks great.
The songs vary from dull to quite amusing. Not that catchy or classic but the odd one is amusing.
The story line is OK, fairly basic.
The actors perform well and the leads are charismatic.
Conclusion? Meh... you know, it's OK. That about sums it up. There are better and worse places to spend your money! Sorry to be tepid about the whole affair but that's how I feel. If you must, buy it but you won't be missing much if you don't!
Not a stunning blu-ray either.

We all know it's a great film so instead of me going on about that or how average the cover looks(!), I'll talk about what you're spending the extra £'s on, the Blu Ray conversion.... There have been a number of older films that have been put on to Blu Ray which, simply, have been very poor (see my review on Bullitt (another Warner title FYI)). The point of Blu Ray should be to showcase the very best in picture and audio quality that is currently available. Thankfully, this title has converted very well. The picture quality is exceptional, it makes a 28yr old film look very recent. Jack has never looked so maniacal! And again, the audio quality just brings a whole new experience to the film, adding an even darker edge than you were previously aware of. ... Read More:

I guess I just don't get it. I was expecting something dark and twisted from this movie but it just didn't deliver, and it was almost as if the film-makers themselves had given up the ghost at the end and allowed the whole project to sink into farce (circa the thoroughly inappropriate hillbilly music as Mad Billy-Bob Cletus or whatever his name is kicks his mini hoverboat into gear as if to chase down Scooby Doo and Shaggy).

The film seems to exist for two blink-and-you'll-miss-them set piece moments in the final third (you'll recognise them when they happen) but that's nowhere near enough to sustain a credible story or to make up for the tedium of everything that happens once the two central characters meet up with the backwards psycho-family who ... A film which creates tension at times, though does uphold its continuity throughout. Lack of CGI obviously accepted, this plot nevertheless is full of holes. The motivation behind the otherworldly beings wanting to inhabit earth is never established, the consequence of which is a lack of consistent atmosphere. Without wanting to give anything more than the basic plot establishment away to those who have not sen this film, it would suffice to say that the method of transfrmation leaves a great deal too much to the imagination, and does not provide a basic framework upon which to hang any imagined theories about how the transplantation of an alien mind into a human body would take place.

However, acting is generally of a good standard, and at times this ... Read More:

Bram Stoker's Dracula --Superbit [1993]

Hi Guys & Gals, The Vampire Lovers is based on Sheridan Le Fanu's very famous work,'CARMILLA'! THE VAMPIRE LOVERS, LUST FOR A VAMPIRE and TWINS OF EVIL form part of a TRILOGY released by the famous HORROR MAKERS of YESTER-YEAR,'HAMMER FILMS'. Ingrid Pitt portrays Carmilla in 'The Vampire Lovers'.Do any of you know, that she also acted in a Richard Burton - Clint Eastwood, adaptation of Alistair Mclean's WW2 Bestseller, 'WHERE EAGLES DARE'? In the other two films in the trilogy, I really missed Ingrid Pitt. So,as soon as possible, order the three movies and enjoy.

Vacancy is a really good film. The plot is simple, a couple (Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale) who are on the verge of divorce, their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, they then check in to a run down motel and they realise that the films they are watching in their room were filmed in the very room that they are sat in. The film then consists of a battle between the couple and the killers. There are great extras on the DVD too including documentaries and trailers. Great film at good value for money.
