I remember watching this film when it came out, and was absorbed by the suspense and surprise, yet random 'deaths' that occurred throughout. In typical fashion, I lent it off a mate at school, who I'm sure we all knew one, had dad who was a bit dodgy... and had the pirate copy on VHS. It was a big talking point, and we all laughed over various parts of the film.

Unfortunately, I personally don't think the film is half as good second time round. I'm sure it's not just me now that i'm older, but it seemed the more I tried to take it all in, the less convincing it all is. Sammy L Jacksons grand killing scene is only good enough for a snigger, whereas I remember my mum jumping out of her skin originally. Even the CGI hasn't aged well, ... Read More:

I like Scary Movie 2 but it really sick and grucesome. Some scenes are so gross, I felt sick. WARNING IF YOU DON'T LIKE GURCESOME AND SICK AND OTHER THAN DON'T WATCH SCARY MOVIE 2, WATCH HE OTHER THREE NOT 2. I also hope that Scary movie 5 is the best out of the all 4. I think.
One is the best
Four came next
Three come next
Two comes last
Scary movie 2 is a dissapontied to me but the rest are 5/5 this 1/5.

the jarring transition from one scene to the next mentioned in the previous review is a flaw on the film itself and not the disc. it's always been there. hope that helps.

I liked Shrooms, it wasn't your usual slasher film and it was an original idea.

Story: Some American students go to Ireland to meet up with an old friend and to get high on the magic mushrooms that grow there. Unfortunatly, once they eat the shrooms, they see a figure in black in the woods, and they start being killed, is it real, or is it a horrifying hallucination? All will be revealed at the end. I think the people that gave Shrooms 1 star missed the point.

If you want something different to watch, give Shrooms a go.

I like the story, a lot. However this american version was pretty poor, I couldn't connect with Alba's character and she annoyed me!I much prefered the Japanese version which genuinely scared me. This was just so predictable, there was nothing in it which made it individual from the original version, it was just an American rip off.Don't bother with this, watch proper horror with the Japanese original and scare yourself that way.

I've loved this film since the first time I saw it almost 20 years ago.
It grabbed me right from the start when the superb theme tune by The Dickies kicked in. The clowns themselves are suitably menacing, they look like badly filled fancy dress costumes gone wild but when they show their teeth it's time to watch out. The line "they were travelling through outer space and stopped for something to eat" describes the plot succinctly and Cove Crescent is their chosen pit-stop.
John Vernon as the red-neck deputy Curtis Mooney is the only really bright light in the acting stakes. The special effects are not that brilliant but that suits the movie well, this is not an FX extravaganza but it is one of the best low budget comedy horror movies you will see.

This is a good modern horror film that acknowledges its roots, but manages to be original enough to warrant merit in its own right. Psycho is the oldest influence, although this only becomes apparent in the latter part of the film. Clearly Halloween and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre have been an influence as well.

Two young women go to visit one of their sets of parents at a remote farmhouse. Once night falls all hell breaks loose. There are one or two clues to the big twist that will occur later in the film, but I didn't spot them at the time and it was only after the film finished that I realised what they meant.

The director of this film clearly understands how to build tension. I suspect that he has watched all of Hitchcocks finest movies. Given the freedom ... Read More:

Received the box set today and haven't actually seen the DVD movies yet, however I were slightly worried if all the DVD's from the box-set would all be in widescreen as I wanted them to be, and I found it annoying that no aspect ratio information were given on the Amazon.co.uk site.
So just in case others like I should wish for more information then I can infom you that it on the box-set says that all main features has english subtitles for the hearing impaired and more specifically for each DVD movie it says :

Omen I (2 disc, 30th Anniversary) is in approximately aspect ratio 2.35:1 and sound : English 5.1 and English 2.0 stereo
Omen II is in approximately aspect ratio 2.35:1 and sound : English 2.0 surround

Having recently read and quite enjoyed King's novels Desperation and Dreamacatcher, I thought I would check out the films of the books. While Dreamcatcher was a big budget (almost $70 million) mess, with unbelievably misjudged casting and abysmally wooden acting, this TV movie gets most things right. Tom Skerritt and, especially Ron Perlman, put in good performances which gel together a solid cast.

The movie is a sensible, well written and streamlined adaptation of King's novel, and I was pleasantly surprised to find myself enjoying it. While it is no Misery, Shawshank or Green Mile, it is still entertaining in a way that the disasterous Dreamcatcher could only dream of.

Having said all that, it's still a country mile from being a genuinely good film. I give it three stars ... Read More:

The idea behind this movie was excellent, and for the first 15 minutes I thought this would be a great movie. However, the film actually gets boring. There's no real reason given for the problems and a very, very strange sub-plot between the two main actors, for which you can only think 'so what'.

Real shame, was looking forward to this, but a huge disappointment and not worth buying.
