I bought this anime without really knowing what the series was all about, but it was certainly worth taking the chance!

Beautifully animated and beautifully scored, Elfen Lied was gripping from start to finish. To be honest, I wasn't overly impressed when I saw the first episode, as gore and nudity was rife. Fortunately however, although there is a lot of nudity, it never borders on the pornographic.

Some of the scenes are pretty sickening though, and although it was an insight into what humans can do to each other for their own personal profit, it isn't a series I'd like to watch with anyone else.

I don't know what the English dub is like (all the ones I've heard so far have been pretty dire so I don't ... Read More:

Whilst some of the films in this boxset are not amongst Hammers best it is an extremely good collection.
I already owned almost half of the titles on region 1 but these discs are much better quality. The picture is clearer, the colour more vibrant and the sound's crisper.
If you're a Hammer fan you simply must own this set. I was lucky enough to get in in a sale for £35 which is incredibly good value.
If you've been considering buying this set, stop dithering and get on with it. You won't regret it.

Having studied spanish in school , I decided to watch this as it was on the TV one night, to top up on my spanish skills thinking it was going to be a little kids mild horror movie. How wrong was I ! This is one of the best films that flawlessly mixes, horror, romance, fantasy and even has a few bits that make you cry. After watching this I immediately researched the film and found it was directed by Guillermo Del Toro, no wonder I loved it. I had fallen in love with his work when I saw Hellboy but this film really took the wind out of Hellboy's sails. Overall I would recommend this film to anyone , speak spanish or not. A brilliant film by an amazing director.

I was expecting this to be a load of rubbish but have to say it was awesome!!
Don't worry about the fact its based on a comic book as you don't need to be a reader of the comic to follow what the film is about.
This is the best vampire film I have ever seen (excluding Coppola's Dracula).
The stereotypical image of a vampire has truely been turned on its head & the creators have done to vamps what 28 days did to zombies. After all vampires are predators & there is nothing romantic about them.
The special effects are fantastic & the film is full of gore for avid horror fans.

One of the greatest movies from the 1930s!

Margaret Lockwood stars as a passenger on a train who is befriended by an elderly lady (Dame May Whitty) after receiving a bang on the head. The plot thickens when Miss Froy (Whitty) goes missing, but no one on the train will admit to ever having seen her.

Lots of suspense in this, and not a boring moment! This can be watched over and over and still remains as fresh as the day it was made! This classic suspense movie will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time! Includes a galaxy of stars, with some outstanding performances - particularly those of Catherine Lacey (the nun), Linden Travers, Dame May Whtty and of course Lockwood herself.

Also stars a young Googie Withers.

I have read all the books (So far!) in the series and enjoyed them. I have watched Nightwatch and whilst not being totally true to the story was still very close, and a well done film.

I have just sat down and watched this, and the only thing that relates to the book is 'The Chalk of Destiny' - Not how it is obtained, or even what is is used for. Instead they have made up their own terrible story. Why not just stick to the book, which was really good! I do not see the point of making a film of the book, when you are not going to relate to it at all.

Also the film was very difficult to follow, as nothing was really explained. I had to keep explaining a lot of stuff to my husband!

If you love the books, and even the first film, don't bother with this. If you haven't ... Read More:

The opening of the film is clever and deals with the events leading up to Michael's first murder. I was very happy with the back story of Michael Myers & how brutal his life was & you could almost see day by day how he was driven to kill almost his entire family.

Minor details that were simply Rob Zombie's way of putting his mark on the film include a white trash family that Michael allegedly comes from (even though in the original his mother and father seem to be pretty straight-laced, almost nerdy, people) and the fact that his mother is a stripper. Dr. Loomis is introduced early on, in the film, at Michael's school after some questionable things he done. I just feel that there was enough of a set up in the original John Carpenter film for Zombie to build off of, without going and adding ... Read More:

If you have seen the original version before watching this before getting this dvd then you with be surpised with the things they cut for this version. They completely ruin the flow of the film and leave certain questions unanswered because of the cut. This version is cut about 5 minutes from the original and the pace and story of the film is ruined. The most necessary scenes are cut. The film is a masterpiece however and if you can get past the stupid editing then you should learn to love this film but I highly recommend you find a version with a longer running time than this version. If it wasn't for the cuts this film would have easily got 5 stars in my opinion
