DVD : Inspector Morse - Fat Chance - Series 5 - Episode 2 [1987]
This is one of my favourite Morse's. The story is so different and absorbing with wonderful performances from Zoe Wanamaker and Maggie O'Neil. A major twist in the story about two thirds of the way through is a real treat as the plot moves into top gear. Without giving too much away the ending is superb and leaves you with the realisation that, as in real life, the bad guy doesn't always get his come-uppance. Brilliant writing and great entertainment, just sit back and marinate in Morseland.

I liked this story more than the others, because, as in Last Seen Wearing, the death was accidental, not murder, and it showed Max the pathologist, as a warm, and helpful human being, although, the age difference, between him and his niece, was not great enough. In the other episodes, he was just a professional doing his work. The old lady, well played by Fabia Drake, was an amusing, and shrewd character also. The students were a diverse lot, with things to hide. Morse also, showed his knowledge of , and liking for English Literature.
