I have played a lot of these so called DVD games in the past and i was very annoyed by the lag and/or poor production values. So tentiveley i rented Red dwarf beat the geek as i didn't want to splash out. Apprenhensively i loaded it in my dvd player. The first thing that hits me is the production values. Being my favourite tv show i still didn't think they could of made a playable dvd, but this is it. The loading times are next to nill the range of questions for both red dwarf fan red dwarf geek and general knowledge are even, and its a genuine delite to play. The game is simple and fun. A great idea to supply buzzers as its stops people fighting for the remote control. lots of questions to keep you going so the game doesn't get too boring if you play it alot. I did have an issue with my DVD player (it's getting on abit now) not accepting the buzzers but turning off the DVD player, then turning it on again seemed to sort this out, and it works fine now!

If you like "A Question of Sport", and don't mind the absence of the captains, then this is a very good title. It has all the rounds that make this show long running (except the Buzzer round). It even has the "1 minute round", although in a different format. The only problem for me is that it is multiple-choice, often with just 3 choices (but sometimes with 4), so that you can guess and have a moderate chance of getting it right without any knowledge. I would have preferred there to have been many more choices, or maybe (for example, in the Identify the Person rounds) you should have to say what sport they play, and then their name. However, overall, a very good title, and well worth it - but only if you like sport!

This was the first time I'd tried an interactive DVD game and I have to say that I was very impressed! Good, challenging questions for children and adults and it really seemed like you were in the hot seat on the TV with Chris giving a great performance as always. I thought the lifelines were good as they often gave a helping hand but didn't always automatically guarantee you the right answer. I had great fun with the family over Christmas playing this.

This is a laugh, it plays the well-known X Factor music in the background and between levels, and it features our four favourite "Love to hate" judges, Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh. It has the true X Factor appeal, even if you don't have to get up and sing. A blessing in disguise for some of us oldies. I was a little put off at first when I thought this was only for fans who have seen X Factor and thus would have an advantage by remembering some of the answers, but this turned out not to be the case. Some questions are based on the real X Factor contestants ability to sing, and some are random music questions. Something for everyone. Almost everyone finds they get hooked on "Deal or No Deal" when they start watching it on TV. There are obsessive people who have watched every episode and fan websites that discuss the mathematics of the format and whether the banker is a real person. How does the detail of the real life show transfer into the game? Firstly, it is important that you are aware of, and preferably a fan of, the actual game, because part of the fun is to find yourself actually playing the game you have watched so often on the TV. People might think it isn't worth playing without the money prize at the end of it, but I don't agree. Had high hopes for this DVD after reading the reviews but was left disappointed with the quiz as after a few games a lot of questions were repeated.

I rated the 2005 version as 1 star. I said: "It is an interactive as a book. And you are forced to play the game in a particular way which is not mirrored in the TV show. In the Big Money round, you have to guess the top answers - no marks for second answers. Basically, a book of Family Fortunes would be much better than this. They have forgotten to put something in this DVD - fun. " All of that applies to this version. There are 5 rounds: The second round is to guess the top answer only for 50 points. The 5th round is the "Big Money" round for both teams, and again is only for top answers. In the other 3 rounds (for example) Team A notes down their 5 answers. I only gave this one star because I had to give it something. Please don't believe the reviews that give this rubbish 5 stars, it is so totally tedious I thought about chewing off my right leg just to stay awake. There really is nothing interesting or remotely clever about it, and it gets worse when you have to listen to the same dull story at least 10 times. Stay away!

If you want lots of football clips and trivia then get this. You choose round by round from a 'team sheet' style selection screen. If you get enough questions right the DVD reveals a secret video which gives you a chance to win Premier League tickets at the end of the game. Cool Eh?! Gameplay is better than other DVD games and there are so many great goals on this that I had forgotten (and it was great to remind my Liverpool supporting brother about). Good to see the boss introducing and some action from the old boys (Cantona and Bryan Robson etc). Good Stuff lads! :)
