After playing other sports quiz's last year & finding them all very similar & not that exciting I wasn't going to bother with another one this year. I was recommended this one & I'm really glad I gave it a go. Mixed in with the quiz are some hilarious clips from the radio shows. I don't listen to Talksport so wasn't sure which clips came from what shows, but that doesn't matter they're just really funny. The game plays well & there's enough to keep you entertained. If you have kids & you struggle to get them to play sports quiz's normally then this is also the one for you. They'll love it just waiting for the next comedy clips. Recommended

I was dissapointed with this game. We played it over christmas, where we divided 8 people into 2 teams and was dissapointed that the same question was given to both teams, and yes the 2nd team get to know the first teams answer before they answer. So a big problem there. Secondly the game play is quite slow, it takes 30 seconds or so to sometimes move to the next question or round. The questions were good and the product cheap, which is why I have given it 2 stars.

Again... another dreadful Christmas cash in. Like last year's Bullseye, the Countdown DVD offers little in terms of real interactivity. While this is mostly a failing of the hardware (A DVD player can only do so much after all) the game is still a complete rip off. The one good thing is that at least some money has been spent on getting the hosts to appear (without Susie sadly) and they look like they might have filmed on set. But that's the end of the good points. Un-responsive controls/choices, a limited number of letter arrangements that can repeat almost straight away... but worst of all... you have to use a pen and paper and a dictionary to play the game... I loved this TV game as a kid (and still do - ch 19 DAVE on an sunday) but unfortunately this is a very poor comparisson. This game only lets you have 3 teams (I know not in line with the game instead of 4 as said on the box (as you get as error sheet in the box correcting you). The questions are so easy thats it's embarassing to answer them, and the same level of knowledge carries on round after round and the toughest option is trying to excuse yourself from the room and let everyone else carry one with this torture!! I do not jest!! I would actually give this NO STARS if I had the option

I am rather disappointed with this DVD. I have played a total of 10 sessions and I am astonished that I appear to get the same questions in each session, despite there being a claim that there are over 1000 questions. Needless to say I am now getting top marks in each session - as it takes no time at all to learn all of the answers. OK you do get the occasional new question thrown in but it is completly boring and tedious.

My 8 year old Son is rapidly becoming a Marvel fan (thanks to me!) and I thought this would be a good game for us to play. Problem is even on the easy level it's way too hard for his limited knowledge. On top of this, other than in the menus, it's silent. It would have been nice to have some sort of atmospheric music to jolly you along while playing. Not a bad game and nice artwork but overall a wee bit disappointing....aimed more at us "grown ups" than kiddies.

Like most DVD games this is far too slow to be entertaining. The lag between pressing a button on the remote and anything happening on screen sucks any fun that this game might otherwise have promised. If you really want a fun family quiz game get Buzz for the Playstation 2. It's easy to play, fast past and has a variety of rounds. It's a lot of fun to play, everything that the Catch Phrase DVD game isn't.
