Again... another dreadful Christmas cash in. Like last year's Bullseye, the Countdown DVD offers little in terms of real interactivity. While this is mostly a failing of the hardware (A DVD player can only do so much after all) the game is still a complete rip off. The one good thing is that at least some money has been spent on getting the hosts to appear (without Susie sadly) and they look like they might have filmed on set. But that's the end of the good points. Un-responsive controls/choices, a limited number of letter arrangements that can repeat almost straight away... but worst of all... you have to use a pen and paper and a dictionary to play the game... We were given this game 2 years ago as a present, and although I do agree with all of the other reviews, we still manage to get some entertainment out of it. Many of the questions are repeated, even in the same game, which has led to myself and my husband being banned from being on the same team as we already know the answers to a lot of the questions (having never watched the films in question). There have also been many, many bouts of fisticuffs or eye gouging when a team is given the same question as their opponents not 2 rounds earlier. Also, the disc does on occasion skip a players turn, and then apparently realising it's mistake, gives them 2 turns next time!!! The game is very repetative, however ... Read More:

We would give this 0 stars if we could. We put this game on and within 5 minutes were bored. The animation is basic and the commentary is the same every race, not that you can really hear what is being said. This is going straight to the car boot sale. Don't waste your money.

Great film,price a real bargain.Very good picture quality.Fay Wray is stunning,though the real star of the show is Leslie Banks.His performance as the deranged Count Zaroff is excellent.Highly recommended!

Was really looking forward to this but like the Indiana Jones movie disappointment followed. The challenges move to quickly for the DVD remote to keep up. Fair play you can use the PC but a family that gathers around the computer for an evenings entertainment really needs to buy a board game!! When it works this game is OK but for an extra few quid you can have the Scene it version of the game which is much better and with more replay value.

Short game takes an eternity! To win the game you have to gain a point on all categories. If you gain a point for answering the question correctly and you land on that category again and get the answer wrong then you lose the point and have to get it again. The problem with the game is that the category wheel is meant to spin randomly but it seems to land too often on 'feuds' and 'rovers' so you spend the majority of the time answering questions on these two categories just to keep your point. The long game you have to gain two points on each category which appears impossible in one lifetime!

I bought this for my husband and the family to play at Christmas.What a disappointment! The questions were far too difficult and very biased towards American cars.I agree with other reviews that the questions do not tie up with the catagories.There was definitely no fun in this game.

The interactive dvd version of Bruce Forsyth's 'Play your cards right'. Play in teams or just you against the Dvd. Just like the T.V show,you are given a question and you decide how many out of 100 people replied yes with youre opponent guessing higher or lower. The winner gains control of the board and then trys to get across the board by guessing on the turn of a card being higher or lower,collecting youre prize money in the process.The eventual winner is the one with most money at the end of three rounds. Obviously a lot slower than the T.V version and this does detract from the game somewhat. A Bruce Forsyth voice over would have been a nice touch and whilst i have seen worse family games out there,i have seen an awful lot better as ... Read More:
