These season reviews are great if, like me, you like seeing off-track footage as much as the action from the races because that is what they consist of mostly. Limited to one or two cameras at each race, there is an inevitable concentration on practice sessions and interviews. Do not expect lots of overtaking, accidents or on-track action. That said, there is no other way to get footage of these years and, assuming anyone who is thinking of buying something like this is already somewhat knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the era, these films are of great interest. I follow the Dakar most years, and have a keen interested in the race so I have been waiting for the 07 DVD to come out. What a disappointment, I thought early years (Dakar 04, 05, 06) were not good, but Dakar 07 why bother! bar some of the footage this is a very poorly put together product, the commentary is awful and full of mistakes, the commentator is boring and ill informed. Some of the footage is ok but there is just so little of it. Don't waste your money watch the footage on you tube that euro sport have listed, it is longer and better. There is one extra on the disk with is an interview with Robbie Allen which is Ok and there is a small amount of footage of his journey but again minimal. ASO the company who run the Dakar need ...
