NEWS FLASH....FROM THE CLASH.... I've already reviewed the US Version of this...but my UK version arrived today...so...Track Wise it's the same...The Clash: Live - Revolution Rock [2008] I still stand by review number one...I know some people think it's a bit of a rip off as most of the material has been available before..you do get some extras from US TV which unless you are a Clash Anorak like me ..you won't have seen before as they were only on "Unofficial" releases. I think it's a great release especially for people who never got to see the band live..you don't get the full impact...but you certainly get a good idea of how passionate they were about what they were doing. I've seen this movie several times now and I'm still fascinated by it - I'm no particular fan of George Clooney or the Coen brothers or Bluegrass music (or even of Homer), but this movie is so cleverly constructed and well acted, with multiple threads that hang and re-cross throughout the story, that each time I watch I see a connection I missed in previous viewings. Reading the other reviews I guess I must be the only ageing Blues fan out here - but Robert Johnson must be up there (sorry, down there) somewhere, smiling if he's seen it.

I am sorry but if you dont enjoy this film you must have had a sense of humour bypass operation when you were younger. The cast is great, the story superb and the music excellent. A film you will keep coming back to when you need to put a smile on your face!!

The voice still outstanding. I first saw Paul Rodgers back in 1969 in Whitley Bay and thought he was fantastic and he just gets better and better with age. The set is actually what I would have chosen from his extensive catalogue. I agree about the strange break in the DVD but it won't detract from your enjoyment. A cracking DVD well worth the money.

I bought this when it was first released on vinyl and video...and it is just as impeccable now. One of the greatest tours from one of the greatest bands, this gig stands the test of time and countless....and I DO mean countless....viewings. Metal at its finest.

Up until spending 4 hours (that's four hours) watching this double DVD offering of 2 entire Jewel concerts - "Goodbye Alice In Wonderland" and "Live At The Rialto Theatre" - my knowledge of Jewel was skimpy, to say the least. Most famous Alaskan, ever (at least until the last few months). Lilith Fair. And a vague recollection of fan furore over the 'Intuition' song, when she went all poppy and scantily clad. Not really a sound basis for devoting an entire night to the DVD player. And for the first half hour, my preconceptions were well founded, as Jewel and her acoutic guitar plucked their way through some sweet but largely insubstantial songs. Awesome, Spellbinding, Brilliant. Superlatives fail me. Paul Simon is a tremendous artist and mixed with Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Hugh Masekela and Mirium Makeba the result is tremendous. T Shirts proclaiming 'Free Nelson Mandela' appear in the audience and recall 1987 and the shame of the then government of South Africa. The music is first class, the singing tremendous and the DVD conveys the atmosphere of the event. If you are a Paul Simon fan this is essential.
