This far exceeded my expectations, especially given the previous review. Very informative, great footage, great music. I've since been trawling the web for archive material to the exclusion of everything else... Zal Cleminson is up there with the best.

I absolutely agree with the first review of this DVD. I only rented it and am glad I didn't spend any money on buying this DVD as I kept having deja vue's, or so I thought. It was actually the same scenes repeated over and over again, the Swan Lake rehearsal was shown 3 or 4 times (I actually lost count). Darcey is such an exceptional dancer, I have been fortunate enough to see her live a few times and there would have been so much more to be on offer. Also, when filming ballet it's always best to show the whole body, not just the dancer's face, the Dallas cameraman must have been quite an amateur in this field... All in all, it's nice to have a DVD dedicated to Darcey, but run-time is 43 Minutes only (not 60 as described) of which ... Read More:

Seems rather disgusting that this DVD has not been made available in the U K.Especially when its so important. Only thing you can do is buy on import from HMV as I see its All Regions

Back in September 2004, comedian Dave Chappelle held a secret block party in a run-down area of Brooklyn with performances from hip-hop greats such as Kanye West, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, The Fugees, Erykah Badu, The Roots and Dead Prez with some guest appearances from Big Daddy Kane, John Legend and Jill Scott. This DVD has an excellent mix of comedy and music and is well edited to have the lead up to the day blended in with the concert itself, showing Chappelle back in his hometown in Ohio where he is inviting people to the show and then in Brooklyn where the set up of the stage is being discussed and built up. The King Kong film is amazing. DVDs are amazing because of the special features. So, it stands to reason that a 2-disk DVD set containing nothing but King Kong behind-the-scenes special features should be something utterly outstanding. Right? Wrong! This is basically special feature overkill, and it gets very dull very fast. Perhaps only the hardest of die-hard movie "behind-the-scenes" fanatics should buy this. For the rest of us, it's just way too much. And, what's worse, we're betrayed by the lack of actual King Kong stuff! No CGI scenes, in fact hardly any ape at all. Not good.

Apart from the actual picture and audio quality not being wonderful on this DVD, the actual content, which is what it is here for, is awesome. Bernstein gets slated a lot for being too harsh on people, or a bully, nothing could be further from the truth. I work in this field full time and Bernstein's approach can defiantly be termed "old school" but not too harsh by any means. As for Jose Carreras being bullied by Bernstein? Hardly. Carreras didn't do his homework, plain and simple, the fact that "Something's coming" had to have take after take and Jose was still unaware that he was miles ahead of the orchestra is proof if proof were needed.
