Gene Kelly's famous song and dance sequence from the title has become a household name.Added to this a young Debbie Reynolds and Donald O'Connor and you have a film that connects both musically and with dance sequences that are colourful and imaginative even today....Donald O'Connor's rendition of "Make em laugh" shows how superfit and talented he was...In the background of the silent movies the competition into talkies made the big studios have to pull out all the stops..This is a talented if not tongue n cheek look at those times....Kelly is masterful with the Broadway Melody sequence with Cid Charise dancing charisma to enhance the mood...."You are my lucky star" is one of many heart stopping hits to top the romance love tale that intertwines ... Absolute magic! I saw this as a child and it inspired me into career of dance. As a child, I adored to watch it and try to imitate the characters. Frederick Ashton's choreoegraphy brings the animals to life with imagination and fun. In the early 70's The Royal Ballet was in it's glory days with dancers like beautiful Leslie Collier, Wayne Sleep and Michael Coleman: who's Pas De Chat-ing Jeremy Fisher I'll never forget, dancers filled with style, creativeness and that tremendous RB technique. This is a joy, something to have on the shelf for any ballet fan or budding ballerina. Enjoy!

At first, my wife and I thought it just had a long arty f@rty starting, but after 25 minutes of loud shouty bizarre colour schemes we got a head ache and gave up.

Our advice, unless you are arty f@rty or are just trying to impress someone, don't bother watching this tripe.

I wish I could have given this a negative number 0 is too kind and giving it a 1 is far too generous.

The film wasn't bad but neither was it very good - a bit like both Beyonce and Diana Ross in fact. I paid less than £4 new and you can't go wrong at that price.

Jennifer Hudson deservedly won an Oscar for her performance and from me she wins an award as "The Future of Soul Music". I would never have believed that Jennifer Holiday's rendition of "And I'm telling you I'm not going" could be trumped. It can and it was ! Ms Hudson has now made the song her own.

Treat yourself to Jennifer Hudson's self titled debut album released at the end of September '08.

I read on IMDB that 'Paint your Wagon' single handidly killed off the western and musical genres. Ignore sush tripe.

It's a long film, but in this day of long films with pointless side plots, this doesn't waste a minute. Filled with great tunes, funny (and clever!) jokes and superb performances I'd say this is a must. At little more than £5 in highstreet stores it's a bargain.

For any true Rock 'n' Roll fan and any former members of the growing-up cultures of the Fifties and Sixties...Seventies too, you just can't let these two get away - "That'll Be The Day" and it's sequel, "Stardust".

It's a fabulous roller-coaster ride that isn't just limited to the fairground, depicting the social and musical changes of life in 1950's Britain as seen through the eyes of the young man who turns out to be 'the minstrel of a generation' - Jim Maclaine...very amicably portrayed by teen Pop idol (at the time!), David Essex. Infact, it was Mr. Essex who was nominated for the Best Newcomer BAFTA along with Rosemary Leach as Best Supporting Actress in the role of his long-suffering Mother. A stellar cast including Robert Lindsay, Billy Fury, ... Read More:

The story of life in the village of Anatevka, in Russia, as told through the eyes of the Jewish milkman, Tevye (Chaim Topol).
All of life's emotions are in this film. Joy, despair, fear... All brought to life by brilliant acting, humour and song such as 'If I were a rich man', 'Sunrise, sunset'.
You cannot watch this movie and remain untouched by the plight of the Jewish people, as they sought to go about their business, but suffer bitter persecution for no other reason than being Jewish.
One of my favourite quotes is when a student asks the Rabbi if there is a blessing for the Czar. The Rabbi thinks, then smiles...'May God bless the Czar and keep him... far from us!'
This is a long movie at 3 hours, but it draws in you to such an extent ... Read More:
