Edward (Depp), born with scissors for hands, is brought into the local village and becomes the talk of the town.

God bless Tim Burton. Who in their right minds would take a fairy tale and include a man with scissors for hands? Burton's sheer strangeness continues after his beautiful Beetlejuice and Batman in this darkly colourful fantasy drama and throws the fairytale convention out of the window. Burton is an inspiration to the film industry, a man who does everything differently and there is no one else out there like him, and his finally cut creation, inspired by one of his own drawings, is a sentimental spark in his collection, his most touching to date.

For those fairytale lovers out there don't worry. This 1990 ... Read More:

I was bowled over by this series. I'd never seen it on TV until I bought it in Thailand (yes an offical copy too). The Thais love the series too right from my 60 year old Uncle to my 2 year old Daughter. This show could run for years.....

I didn't have particularly high expectations of this film... but found myself pleasantly surprised. Especially by Hugh Grant's performance as an Andrew Ridgeley-esque 'has-been' 80's pop performer. The pop pastiche elements of this film are really well done - the 80s-styled 'PoP goes my heart' video is a particular gem, but Hugh Grant's 'has-been' character's performances in dismal bookings at high school reunion evenings and local fairs are also well worth watching.

The plot - with Grant's character desperately latching onto his plant waterer (Drew Barrymore) as a lyricist to help him come up with a song to appeal to current hot artist Cora Corman within a very short time frame, and falling in love along the way - is pretty unremarkable ... Read More:

How can anyone find this movie funny? Maybe it is OK if you are a big fan of Wallace and Gromit, but if you are used to American movies such as Over the Hedge, it is dull, dull, dull. Nowhere near as good as Over the Hedge or Madagascar.

Everything starts with everyone in the town looking forward to a vegetable competiton, but that all changes when a few rabbits are on the loose, and Wallace is the Were-Rabbit (quite scary for youngsters) believe it or not. The veg competiton then turns into a big battle between Gromit, another dog Phillip, Lady Tottington and the Were-Rabbit (Wallace.) I thought the movie would bew abseloutely fantastic, but I found that I could not get a single laugh out of it. Do not buy, just get the famous Over the Hedge. ... Read More:

After throwing a secret party for his son Chris's 12th birthday , Daniel Hillard (Robin Williams) lands himself in hot water with his wife Miranda (Sally Field) and she demands a divorce.

When Miranda wants to hire a housekeeper to look after the children, Daniel is outraged that Miranda would rather let a stranger look after the children than him so with a little help from his make-up artist brother, Daniel turns up to an interview as Mrs Doubtfire, a british nanny who has 15 years experience under her belt and is hired on the spot.

Mrs Doubtfire is a fantastic family film that is funny, sad and touching all at the same time.

Does anybody know what is on Disc 2? I suspect there might be some extras and I am hoping one of which is the documentary Shadowing the Third Man, but would like to know for sure before I buy it. Shame that Amazon is sometimes so lax about product descriptions.

I have watched this film five or six times on an old VHS version and every time I watch it, I discover something new and enthralling. The film is superb, bigger than life and definitely one of the greatest ever made!

The story of Lorna Doone - of love between a man and woman on opposite sides of warring factions - has been filmed many times but this BBC adaptation has an eye-watering cast of TV and film favourites and stunning production values.

Told in two 75 minute parts, we see John Ridd (the Heath Ledger-ish Richard Coyle) set his sights on the Grand-daughter of the outlaw Doone family, played by Amelia Warner. Set at the end of the reign of Charles the 2nd, this drama has romance, action and plenty of twists and turns and with a PG rating is suitable for the whole family.

Amongst those familiar faces are Jack Shepherd (Golden Compass, Wycliffe),Barbara Flynn (When The Boat Comes In), Michael Kitchen and Honeysuckle Weeks (Foyles War), Martin Clunes (Doc ... Read More:

I found this feature documentary to be an amazing compilation of mans journey of all journeys - to travel to the moon. For those who know little about the Apollo missions this is a great overview, beautifully put together with an easy pace. More importantly are the words from the astronauts themselves. They truly convey their experiences to the audience with deep conviction and passion. The political climate in the sixties and Kennedys astounding vision lay the foundations for this incredible feat to be realised within a decade. This is simply and profoundly awe inspiring.

I love peroid dramas and was running out of ones to watch. I didn't see this at the time because I was only 8 years old, but I stumbled across it recently and ordered it.

The plot follows the lifes of the residents of Middlemarch through weddings, deaths and scandals.
Well infused with humour, mainly provided by Mr Brooke and his hopes for election.

Rufus Sewell (Will Ladislaw) is amazing as the romantic lead, giving Mr Darcy a run for his money! Juliet Aubrey also plays the gentle, sweet Dorothea Brooke perfectly.
Two of my favourite characters were Fred and Mary.
The romance of the Doctor and his wife is bittersweet and again the actors are fantastic.

Highly recommended and a must for your collection.
