I bought this boxset after seeing 'Breakfast at Tiffany's' on TV and I love it. It is a good selection of her films that show her charm, elegance and beauty. Breakfast at Tiffany's - 1961. Holly Golightly is alone in the world apart from Cat. This iconic film tells her story from the point when her neighbour (George Peppard - he was in 'The A-Team') moves in. He's pretty normal, but Audrey shines in an unusual role for her. Truman Capote wanted Marilyn Monroe, but I think only Audrey has the innocence that stops Holly looking bad. I've never seen Evita on stage, but from watching this film it becomes very obvious that that is where this story belongs, and although certain musicals have translated very well into films ('the Phantom of the Opera' and 'Hairspray' being two that spring immediatley to mind), this is one of those that I feel should have been left on stage. Saying that however, watching this film has made me very keen to see the musical in it's original format one day, and it is just a shame that it is no longer being shown in the West End. The nineteen seventies was a great time for series set between the wars in the North of England. When the Boat Comes In, Sam and The Stars Look Down spring to mind. Worthy as they may have been, and When the Boat Come Comes In would get my vote as the best British Tv series ever, Brass means that it will be a long time before we see the genre again. Brass does for the flat cap drama what Mel Brookes did to Westerns and Frankenstein and did it in just as funny a way. Timothy West is supurb as Bradley Hardacre the ruthless owner of the mine, the mill, the munitions factory and the crutch factory. The best I could muster watching this was an odd smile. Brydon's performance is brilliant and the writing is excellent but this show is not very funny. If it is a comedy then it is the blackest I've ever seen. Watching somebody who is obviously a bit slow go through a heart breaking divorce, separation from his kids and generally get kicked around and not even trying to fight back is if anything a bit disturbing. Would give 5 if it was drama but just find hard to find funny which I think is the point of comedy. Am I missing something?

I would be delighted to purchase the Roots box set (region 2 for UK), but I am very disappointed to hear about the cover errors. - I personally would not mind - as one reader states in similar words that it is the discs that matter most. However, I would be purchasing for my parents who are very elderly and easily confused by these types of errors. - It would ruin the enjoyment of the gift for them. Can customer service please add an update here regarding if these errors have been resolved?? Thank you.

This is my favourite film of all time, but the director's cut is over explained. The original was perfect. You don't need to know what happened between Salvatore and his first love. What you really need to know is all there in the shorter version. I was horrified when I watched the director's cut, it became a trite film, without the magic of the version I knew and loved. If anything, the longer version would suit american audiences better, as everything is explained to death.
