The problems in her life are evident in this performance. Amy Winehouse is an outstanding talent as can be witnessed in the documentary segment on the DVD. In the main concert she is either high or pi$$ed or both and although musically it is fine, she is clearly struggling with her voice and relating to the audience. The quality of the songs really carry the performance. The person in the documentary is a different performer completely. That Any Winehouse is vibrant, energetic and in great voice. Sadly she appears to have since deteriorated more and unless she takes a different road is heading for tragedy.

I've been waiting for this release and take it from me its been worth it.This is the greatest ambassador of the blues at his very best.Recorded in two of his clubs but sequenced to bring us one tremendous set.With his full band with horns,or a very personal and intimate section with just keyboard bass and drums,just as he did on his last UK tour.His stories,his sense of humour,the way he reacts and relates with his audience make this a wonderful listening and viewing experience.Full of classic BB songs as well as some newer ones,but the real bonus is some of those songs he's not sung for many years being played again.'Key to the Highway'which he recorded on the Riding With The King album is an absolute standout performance.There are no guests ... Simon Bell's review here (the first review) rules. I've just played this DVD through and thoroughly enjoyed it. Dusty effortlessly goes from Tamla, soul, cabaret classics to folk and Broadway show standards to power ballads all in single live takes. Often she keeps her soul preference to the last song which goes over the end credits. She plays acoustic guitar and sings folk songs like 'My Lagan Love' (Lagan Love links her to Kate Bush as the Springfields' 'Silver Threads and Golden Needles' links her to Linda Ronstadt - she referenced both of these artists in her 1979 concerts). Things I noticed were in 'I'll Try Anything' she doesn't sing the line 'I'll cheat and I'll lie' and she does a storming version of The Temptations' 'Get Ready'. Read More:

I recently purchased this DVD of Then sings my soul, I knew it would be good... it features George Beverly Shea (now 98 years old) whose music is known world-wide through his association with Billy Graham. Bill Gaither is talking with him and delights us with many memories of well known and loved gospel songs that have been sung over the many years of his life. A spiritual giant who still loves to sing for his Lord but a man whose humility comes across... a must for anyone who loves gospel music.
