I went to see the Drifters just before Christmas 2007 and was hooked. Some reviewers on other sites have not been very kind to this present incarnation of the group, but I disagree. The concert is a joy, the songs delivered superbly by singers who seem to enjoy what they do. In the case of Rohan Delano Turney and Peter Lamarr, they toured as the Drifters with Johnny Moore in the late 90's and after his death carried on the legacy of the Drifters music. The session musicians are tight and effective, and the whole has been mixed into Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 giving very good sound. Well worth the low cost for any fan of the Drifters music, and a real trip down memory lane. Buy..

A great accompaniment to the CD of the same title, set in the Carribean. Lovely atmosphere - definitely front-seat treatment, great unplugged feel, excellent Hall & Oates' Philly soul treatment of numerous classic songs. The interview is also informative and enjoyable, Daryl Hall enhancing the viewer's appreciation of the work and story behind the songs. Whether a seasoned fan or a new one, you won't be disappointed with this DVD!

I saw this act live recently, and though I am not sure how they differ from simply being a tribute act it must be said that their show is a highly polished and well presented testement to one of the biggest bands of the 50's, 60's and 70's, and I would reccomend catching this band live if you get the opportunity (they have a web site which offers tour dates.) A bit of research later and I find this DVD of the current Drifters line-up on Amazon.
