A few weeks ago our family was new to Peppa Pig so I really didn't know which DVD to start with. I was going to buy the Complete Collection (just released) but I think 9 hours of any TV hit is a bit too much for my 2 year old at the moment (not to mention a 30 year old trying to sort through 9 discs in order to find the favorites!) I bought Peppa's Christmas a few weeks ago as a run up to the Christmas season and it has been a HUGE HUGE hit. Suddenly watching ITNG has taken second place and I never thought I would see the day. Peppa is an 'ordinary' little piggy and the series is sweet & refreshing. It's not overly basic so I can see my daughter adoring this lovable character for a few more years to come. ... Read More:

I'm pretty certain if you're looking to buy this, you're not a new-comer to the series, so I won't break it down for you - so many reviews on each season for pick from, I won't bore you. Course if you are a new-comer... sorry. Simply reason for this review, is to tell you exactly what you're getting from this instead of the individual boxsets. Firstly, space-saver. Sounds stupid, maybe, but for those that are racing up 100s or 1000s of DVDs, it's a valid point, (yeah, that would be me, of course) and it is a growing problem. Secondly, you get extras that weren't on the originals, though flipside, if you have the first edition of Season One, (the 'format problem' one in the red case), you miss out on the extras on this, if you're swapping/up ... This series is far more than a tourist trap - particularly as guide Francesco da Mosto would rather there were less visitors to his city (to buy less fake glass/carnival masks/plastic gondolas/jester hats)! Francesco is charming, witty and wonderfully insouciant as he presents an informative yet dramatic history of Venice, La Serenissima. He acknowledges its past arrogance and mistakes, whilst laughing at some of the more bizarre traditions (even he isn't sure about the election of the doges), but all the while maintains an awed respect for the stunning architecture and art, engineering and endurance of his home; Francesco is proud to be Venetian, and I only wish I could share the honour.

I came late, but I am now an ardent Dibley disciple. Dawn French is delightful as the chocolate devouring, incurably romantic, caring and careworn Vicar. She attends to a tiny community of brilliantly barmy and quite certifiable characters, including her fabulously gerbel-brained verger Alice Tinker. The scripts are crammed with deliciously fruity exchanges between the characters, showing off first-rate ensemble acting and many set pieces of virtuoso silliness. Particularly great is Roger Lloyd Pack, who glows with pungent pride as a farmer with better-left-unseen tendencies, and who develops an insatiable lust for Geraldine (the lovely lusty Vicar). This entire series is a comedic marvel. So get the chocolate in and enjoy some brilliant TV. ... Read More:

Family guy started off as very good, but since season 4 it has gone very much down hill & this season now with more swearing, not really necessary, containing this is a new low, to me does not count as humour, there are some amusing moments, hence my 2 star rating, the Gene Kelly scene which was done very well cleverly, replacing Jerry the mouse with Stewie, but overall this cartoon, like The Simpsons, is running out of really funny, sarcastic, jokes, for what I would call toilet humour, which we are getting far too much of nowadays, & when you reach this you are finished. I will buy season 7, to see if it has improved, but only at a good price & I will not rush into buying it, but overall stick to seasons 1,2 & 3 for the best of this series anyone else agree ... Great animation, characterization, sound, and imagery rule in "101 Dalmations." It's action, excitement and love, but with a dark theme that's a bit scary.

My personal view of this is that Pan is an arrogant self obsessed oik ... but I'm pushing 30 so what would i know ?!!! My son got it for his 3rd birthday and loves it and despite watching several times isn't bored of it.

This film has to be one of if not THE best Disney film there is. The story is great, the voices perfect, the songs brilliant! My favourite song from Aladdin is probably Friend Like Me but that's because I love Genie. However, all the songs are great in this film, there's none that you roll your eyes to because Disney have that great way of including a lovely slowie into a film but still having the humour there (like with A Whole New World). Loved this film when I was little and chuffed now that my littl'un loves it too. Great fun for family viewing and still funny for adults!

The main problem with this film is that if you've seen the first then you've seen this one. There is no originality in the script at all which is a shame, because I would say that this film has just killed the franchise. Again Nicholas Cage takes the lead role of Ben Gates in this Tomb Raider type film. Once again Ben and his trusty sidekick Riley Poole (Justin Bartha) and girlfriend Abigail Chase (Diane Kruger) are once again attempting to clear the name of his great grandfather - just like they did in the first film. In this one he (briefly) kidnaps the President rather than the Declaration of Independence, but once again they end up being chased around by the bad guys, while looking for the treasure that will prove his relatives innocence.
