I recieved this season for christmas. I have not been disappointed with it. The storylines are incredible and complicated. Sometimes, you wonder how things can return to normal.

It is compulsive viewing. The picture quality is higher on this series than in any of the previous ones. This is the first series when computer animation is heavily used and it has been sucsessful.

This series really makes you want to buy the next series so watch it or you'll end up with all 7 series. Compulsive viewing and highly recommended.

I was 16 when I first saw Mad Max. I rented the first 2 movies just before Thunderdome hit the cinema. I remeber being impressed at the time, very impressed in fact and never was the post nuclear world so cool.

Well now I am over 20 years older and this seemed like a bargin to me. And price wise they are. Or are they really? I was terribly disappointed watching these so badly do they age and was left wondering what their charm had been. They are low budget productions with weak scripts, below average acting and flawed in more ways than I can count. Newcomers are unlikely to see any positive sides while older fans will be disappointed.

Keep your memories - don't watch them again.

Well having watched most of the seasons on video the quailty of the picture and the extras were incrediable on DVD.

Everyone moans about the final episode but if you are looking to buy this don't be put off.

The ending was a nice alround round off of the series and it had to come at some point and it is well worth watching.

Another brilliant aspect of getting the series on DVD is the extras series 7 ones are excellent.

I am probably biased as I think Voyager is the best series but off all the endings this one was good.

This is a must have for any trekkie.

Live long and Prosper those who read this.

Ps. the best bit in the whole series is at the end of homestead ... Read More:

There are plenty of cracking episodes on this set. The presentation is superb, with an LCARS type of menu system on the DVD (you feel like you're at an Enterprise console when choosing your episodes!), and a looped "engine sound" "docking bay" before you "engage" the episode :).

The episode that sticks in my mind most is the one entitled "Phantasms". The way the sense of insecurity builds throughout the episode makes it the most scary TNG I have seen. It also brings a whole new meaning to the concept of "Alien Abduction". Another superb treat is "Relics", which, again, unfolds piece by piece to present a superb "tapestry" of a story, detailing the origins of all life in this galaxy. Great stuff and heartily recommended for all Trekkies, especially ... Read More:

Doctor Who - The Movie [1996] [1963] This is perhaps one of the most underated DVD's in the whole Doctor Who series both new and classic. The main problem is the bad guy or more specifically the actor who portrays him, Eric Roberts is a great bad guy in lots of B'Movies but just wasn't right for this film (his choice was forced on the writers/director due to pressure from the american backers). On the whole though the film is a great little jaunt, the interior of the TARDIS is fantastic and McGann plays the role fantastically. idea for the future (McCoy, McGann, Eccleston and Tennant) The Four Doctors

This flim is rightfully cited as one of the best sci-fi flims of the 90s. The acting is brilliant- it really explores the talents of Bruce Willis and brad Pitt in challenging roles. The plot is expertly exposed and is full of twists and turns, so that the viewer is unsure if the sci-fi elements of the flim are real of just in Cole's (Willis' character) head.
The only thing that annoyed me about this film is that the futuristic underground world is not explored as much as I would like. Despite this not being a 100% Gilliam flim- he took no part in writing the screenplay- he certainly left his mark.

while season 8 isn't a perfect season of the show...ovrall its just plain decent enough and had a great way to finish on but it shamefully wasn't and we had a ninth season to get through.
but it is a good season but no where near the standard of season 4&5.

The film starts off with great promise - the early scene at a commune with two group leaders putting on a stage show for the kids - Star Wars instead of Shakespeare! This brings humour and humanity in the very early stages. You get a sense of the warmth and the protective responsibility these people have for the children. The community `motto' about always watching the skies is a jarring reminder that there's a horror to this film.

Within minutes you care about the community and feel genuinely very concerned for them, and the arrival of gung-ho Americans upsets the balance. Unfortunately the vulnerability of the community and the feeling of concern isn't recreated throughout the rest of the film - the focus turns to big guns and action.

The dragon ravaged ... Read More:

I remember watching this film as a teenager and it certainly has stuck in my mind over the years. It was with a little trepidation that I rented it - would I be disappointed? I was pleasantly surprised to find, that despite the awful soundtrack, the Omega Man was just as I remembered it.
A thought provoking, science fiction thriller with, for once, a great ending. Watch it now!

i have a seen a lot of films that i think i somehow get into but this is just something that is so personal - it is sort of like tracing yourself onto the main charecter and watch him charimatically take you from start to finish

to come up with something so innovative and just unheard of and to produce a film that carries you through from start to finish is just undescribable - you get so lost imagining yourself here : it dangerous -

Technical Note - i had the film on dvd (know where that went) and had to get on blu ray - best watched with no disturbance - plan a slot out and just get bemused~
