20 minutes of my life I will never get back. Thank the maker I didn't watch it all the way through. Don't get me wrong, it is a decent enough idea. It's just a pity that it's acted & directed in such a nauseating style. If you want Angels, watch The Prophecy instead.

Not a good who, but it's Sylvester plus Turner - it could never have better than mediocre. Other reviewers have said it - the Brig is great (you wouldn't expect anything less from Nick) and the Destroyer make up is so good it holds its own against the superb Cat-kind of the modern Who. Jean Marsh is an excellent actress but her performance is lifted straight out of Willow - the scene where she catches a magic acorn and crushes it is repeated in Battlefield with a bullet - rather sad really.

I never liked McCoy much and Turner saw fit to hammer the final nail into the lid with question mark overkill at a time when we knew more about the Doctor than ever - he was hardly the enigma we first saw in that old junk yard. Ace was annoying ... Read More:

Hollywood loves Dick, and that's a fact. Philip K. Dick, that is: whenever the powers that be require a sound sci-fi brain scratcher, they turn to the pages of special K. The man behind Total Recall, Minority Report and the more than slightly less impressive Paycheck, Phil is the go-to guy for short tales of paranoia, future dystopia and drug abuse, with A Scanner Darkly representing only his second full novel to be adapted into a movie (the first being "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?" which resulted in the mighty Blade Runner). At the helm is another Dick, Richard Linklater, one of the slipperiest directors working today, a man who simply refuses to be pigeonholed, but who is as yet unproven in the sci-fi genre.

Finally, Dick gets a film ... Read More:

If you haven't seen this yet then I suggest you watch it, as it is very good. Don't listen to the critics who have said this is crap because it isn't. And it doesn't matter if you haven't seen all the seasons of 'The X-Files', as it stands well as a movie on it's own. Obviously there are some elements that reflect back to the series but that's more of an addded bonus to the X-Files fans.

One of the main things I liked about this movie was the way the writers have decided to go more into Mulder and Scully's relationship which they didn't really bother with too much in the last film. I also liked the fact that it stayed very true to the tone of the TV show and is just as intense as a lot of the episodes were.

So whether your an X-Files fan or ... Read More:

I think this Blu Ray Final Cut edition was a superb addition to my collection. This is certainly different enough to buy again if you have any of the other versions on DVD. The HD really added to the feel of the city, and as I had not watched it for a few years now, the new cut made it feel almost like a different movie. If you have not seen it before, highly recommended, and if you haven't seen it in years worth a revisit!

Children of the Stones is a classic example of edgy and thought-provoking drama aimed at young people but intelligent enough to appeal to everyone. Its compelling plot and eerie atmosphere places COTS firmly up there with the likes of the marvellous Owl Service and Noah's Castle. Furthermore, set against the hugely evocative backdrop of the Avebury stone circle (and a few shots around West Kennet long barrow and Silbury hill) and with such accomplished actors as Gareth Thomas and the masterful Iain Cuthbertson, COTS is an uniquely satisfying experience.

I loved it when I first watched it as a young teenager and loved it today!

All seven episodes are presented in excellent picture quality and clear, but obviously mono, sound. The soundtrack includes ... Read More:

I've watched this film at least 10 times. It's simply hilarious. It's not actually taking the mickey out of Star Trek, rather a tribute to the actors who play in Star Trek. One of the funniest and definitely the most underrated comedy films out there. You need to watch this film a few times to catch all the jokes so it's a perfect DVD purchase. There are so many classic moments such as the captain getting his shirt ripped Captain Kirk style and the Klingon types in the toilet at the Trekkie conference.

It turns all around the father and his son and their difficult relation. It was perfect as long as the son believed in the stories the father was telling him all the time, that is to say as long as Father Christmas really was a childhood hero. But older age came and those stories sounded all silly, even sillier and sillier and they led to a complete break between the two, the father and the son, till the father came to the point of departing from this life. The son and his wife came back and he was confronted to the stories again. But one day when he was sorting out some old documents of his father's for his mother he came across a strange deed that showed the existence of an estate under the name of his father. And he went there and discovered that this estate had some tremendous ... Read More:

ok so then its another vision of post apocalyptic future and now mankind has designed bioroids to help govern themselves
into this comes the heroin deunan to try and save the day
the good- the visuals are mind blowing the plot is quite inventive and the mixture of philosophic musings to action thankfully falls more into the action camp
the bad - thankfully very little it slows down a little in the middle to crowbar some stuff about mans existence into the characters and as such it loses some momentum but that minor slip aside it flows brilliantly and looks truly stunning

V the mini series and it's sequel V the final battle are great SF. Tough the special effects are not up to today's standard, this is more than compensated for by the interesting storyline (a parable about the naziregime) and protagonists who are real people with real faults and doubts. Some become collaborators, some become heroes against their will, but there are no black and white characters all good or all bad, except for Diana (a Dr.Mengele-like character only with real power, not a follower like Mengele was).
Together these two form an epic story of real interest.
Unfortunately the formula was milked into a television series (V The complete series) wich has deteriorated to mediocre or less. The stories have become childish, the characters have flattened out to two-dimensional. ... Read More:
