Wow! Just when I thought that this show couldn't get any better at the end of season 1, season 2 proves me wrong as this season is just simply incredible.

It begins with the hatch being opened and the first meetings with some new characters, so it's not short of excitement at all. Some questions are answered as the series goes on and some more are created. More characters are introduced whilst others are killed off, which can be quite surprising as some scenes are just so unpredictable. So many more background stories giving insight into the characters' backgrounds are given in the flashback sequences, going even further back into their pasts than just the few days leading up to the flight. Some character cross-overs are also developed ... Read More:

All of the movies released so far are excellent. I see that other reviewers have covered the story line very well, so I will not. Just let me say that all are very well done, with minor imperfections. The main problems are only two. The first problem is that the books are so massive that pieces have to be left out, this is a shame but I do think that to make a 4 hour movie of these books would make them very tiring to sit through. I had thought of maybe making a part 1 and then 2 but this would not help. This boxed set is the single dvd version of each story, I would prefer the 2 disk versions personally. I have the separately released versions of each movie and am very satisfied with all. The second problem is the acting of the three principals. In ... Read More:

Why do most of those that give this series only one star always start by saying " I'm a real SF fan having grown up on blah, blah and this (Firefly) is just **** ".

Well, me to - having grown up with the Masters (Asimov, Bester, Clarke and so-on to Zelazny) BUT I think this is pretty good stuff.

Granted the first few episodes were not so bright (but did you see the first normal Stargate SG1 episode - HA), but then it got into a rhythm. Good stuff.

I haven't yet got through all 4 DVDs - just finished DVD 2, but worth seeing some more.

I'm puzzled by the movie of Serenity - it seems to be a recap of all the characters and some of the plots, with some major changes. But, that's what I saw first - and very, very good ... Read More:

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang [1968] 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' is my second favourite after 'The Wizard Of Oz'. 'Chitty' stars Dick Van Dyke, Sally Ann Howes, Lionel Jeffries, James Robertson Justice and Robert Helpmann. Though this release onto DVD is the Full Screen version of this film i personally prefere it due to the fact this is a wonderful transfere to Disc, with it's lovely deep colours and so beautifully restored it looks like a modern film. Dick Van Dyke is superb as the children's father who rescues a vintage racing car from a junk yard and gets the car working again. He decides the car should be called 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' and he tells his children a story of how the car is magic and able to float and fly. Everything is so wonderful about this film, this ... I missed the entire Battlestar Glactica oeuvre when it came out (indeed the original series as well) but read so many reviews about the allegorical sophistication of BG, I thought I'd better check it out. The obvious place to start is the 2004 mini-series, assembled on DVD as a three-hour feature (and selling for less than four quid on Amazon as I write). Aficionados claim the series doesn't get into its stride until later, but this was for me an impressive opener. The human species is attacked by the Cylons, a robot-race that comes in two distinctive designs; toaster-on-legs and hot, hot humanoid. Thanks to some sexy treachery involving the latter, the human defences are annihilated leaving a rag-bag of refugee vessels, clustered round the eponymous `Battlestar' a sort of ageing aircraft ... series 1 started off everything(makes sense)but seriously if it weren't for the success of this series then the show wouldn't have survived...thanks to the amazing writers and crew behind it and some fab actors.
eppy guide-
Rose-4/5-the start...and what a great start it is too...Billie Piper CAN act as the great Rose Tyler and the Autons are very creepy.
The end of the world-4/5-very good all round episode tht boasts some amazing visuals.
the unquiet dead-4/5-very scary episode with some terrifying zombies...and the doctor meets Charles Dickens.
Aliens of London-2/5-a decent episode but not fantastical...contains the infamous big ben crash scene...but not much else.
World War Three-2.5/5-slightly better but the Slitheen aren't the greatest looking aliens i have ... Read More:

This is one of those dvds you can get out any time of year over and over again and it still appeals. Who would have thought combining a witch, a doctor and WWII would create such wonder.

The characters created by Angela Lansbury (Miss Price the good witch) and David Thomlinson (Dr Amelius Brown)are wonderful and the combination of settings, singing, dancing and animation are very well balanced. Our whole family love this film.
