OK, we've seen this type of movie before. The oppressive future governments ruling with violence and without remorse fighting against rebels wanting to be free. Equilibrium does this style of movie so much better. How? I hear you ask. With the help of Christian Bale. My review will be in three different stages. They are the story, the characters (or character) and the review which is just my opinion on the whole thing.

The Story: In the beginning of the 21st century, World War Three ravages the Earth and almost obliterates mankind. The few survivors realise that a fourth world war would mean the end of mankind once and for all. The world is taken over by "The Father" and his Tetragrammaton government. The father believes that the ... Read More:

All of the movies released so far are excellent. I see that other reviewers have covered the story line very well, so I will not. Just let me say that all are very well done, with minor imperfections. The main problems are only two. The first problem is that the books are so massive that pieces have to be left out, this is a shame but I do think that to make a 4 hour movie of these books would make them very tiring to sit through. I had thought of maybe making a part 1 and then 2 but this would not help. This boxed set is the single dvd version of each story, I would prefer the 2 disk versions personally. I have the separately released versions of each movie and am very satisfied with all. The second problem is the acting of the three principals. ... Read More:

Can't believe that I've actually just wasted an hour and 40 minutes watching this rubbish. Thought I'd got a bargain getting this for £3.49, but I actually feel cheated.

None of the main characters have any depth - you never find out enough about any of them to be able to relate to or sympathise with any of them.

Despite an impressive opening, the film turns out to be utterly dire. The premise of the film is interesting but the film doesn't exploit this and makes no clear political statement - in fact the film doesn't really make any point at all - which sums up this film pretty well, pointless.

-No Spoilers-

I was too young when the first season of the X-Files came out! So I never watched it! I decided to watch all of the seasons X-Files due to the release of the new X-Files: I Want To Believe movie which re-sparked my interest in the show!

I've seen a few random episodes on TV but they where from different seasons and I only watch when it was on! But I'm pleased I started watching if from the beginning and now I'm totally addicted!

I can't express how much I love this show - even though it is a bit dated now I can't believe how ahead of the times this show was! Being a fan of science-fiction I've watched and watch a lot of sci-fi TV shows and I've realise watching the X-Files how many shows have ripped-off The X-Files! ... Read More:

V the mini series and it's sequel V the final battle are great SF. Tough the special effects are not up to today's standard, this is more than compensated for by the interesting storyline (a parable about the naziregime) and protagonists who are real people with real faults and doubts. Some become collaborators, some become heroes against their will, but there are no black and white characters all good or all bad, except for Diana (a Dr.Mengele-like character only with real power, not a follower like Mengele was).
Together these two form an epic story of real interest.
Unfortunately the formula was milked into a television series (V The complete series) wich has deteriorated to mediocre or less. The stories have become childish, the characters have flattened out to two-dimensional. ... Read More:

Forget the original Aliens and Predator films - no way was the AvP series EVER gonna match those, you've got to readjust your expectations for the AvP films. However, I've seen Alien Vs Predator a couple of times, and it's OK. Entertaining, actiony and enjoyable. Yes it's trashy but it's a switch-off-brain film, not particularly offensive or insulting.

The sequel is dark both visually and conceptually. The visual thing is fine, yes, just turn up the brightness on the tv. Conceptually there's no concept, an Alien/Predator hybrid could have been so cool, but this film is just a series of sequences leading up to some pretty twisted ways to die. The whole franchise just seems utterly cheapened and out of ideas. It's trash, and not the enjoyable kind either, just desperate.

I love this adventure, pure escapism. I'm a fan of Stargate and when this spin off came out I was a bit worried but I got hooked from the first episode and still am!!! in fact I would even go as far as to say I like it better. And what about John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan) cor! could watch him all day!! But on a more serious note, I hope this lasts as long as SG1 and carries on being as good. The stories are great and every episode transports you to another place. Keep it up!!!

Apparently the little genius town of Eureka hasn't quite run out of disasters yet, even with the destruction of the Artifact.

In fact, Eureka's problems get worse as the show's writing becomes better, starting with the citizens bursting into flame. The second season of "Eureka" is more confident and well-balanced than the previous one, and it takes the characters, quirky humor and tight writing into brand-new territory. Including Carter walking around naked.

The timeline has been restored, and Carter (Colin Ferguson) and Henry (Joe Morton) are trying to adjust to their past lives. Carter also is convinced that the future will unfold just as it did in the other timeline.

But during a solar flare viewing, a guy violently combusts -- and soon other people start combusting. ... Read More:
